World pepper price on May 31

Pepper prices today on May 31 in the world market turned to increase slightly in Indonesia but remained unchanged in other countries.

Accordingly, the price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia increased by 0.03% to $ 3,589/ton. The price of Muntok white pepper in this country also increased slightly by 0.031%, at $ 6,105/ton.

Malaysia's Kuching ASTA black pepper price remained stable at $ 4,900/ton; while the country's ASTA white pepper is still priced at $ 7,300/ton. 

For the Brazilian market, the price of black pepper ASTA 570 is $ 2,950/ton.

In Vietnam, the export price of 500 and 550 g/l black pepper is $ 3,500 and $ 3,600/ton, respectively. The export price of white pepper is $ 5,000/ton.

Today's world pepper price, listed by the International Pepper Community, increased slightly in Indonesia and was flat in other markets.

Currently, the global pepper market is still under pressure from the USD. However, the forecast shortage of supply (due to reduced productivity and shrinking planting area) has kept pepper prices at a high level. 

Thus, today's pepper price on 05/31/2023 in the world market is increasing slightly in Indonesia compared to yesterday.

Domestic pepper price on May 31

Pepper's price on May 31 in the domestic market increased slightly compared to yesterday.

Specifically, Dak Lak and Dak Nong pepper prices today remained at VND 74,000/kg;

Today's pepper price in Gia Lai was also flat, trading at VND 72,500/kg;

Today's pepper price in Dong Nai is purchased at VND 73,000/kg; a VND 500 increase.

The latest pepper price today in Ba Ria - Vung Tau increased slightly to VND 75,500/kg;

And Binh Phuoc pepper price on May 31 traded at VND 75,000/kg; a slight increase of VND 500.

Domestic pepper prices today increased slightly in the Southeast provinces but flat in the Central Highlands. 

Preliminary data from the General Department of Customs show that exports in the first half of May 2023 reached 13,568 tons of pepper of all kinds, with a turnover of $ 23.23 million.

Therefore, the export of the first 4.5 months of 2023 reached 116,106 tons of pepper, up 33.35% in volume and down 12.16% in value over the same period last year.

The average export price of pepper in the period reached $ 2,876/ton, down 8.90% compared to the average export price of April 2023.

Thus, today's pepper price on 05/31/2023 in the domestic market is trading around VND 72,500 - 75,500/kg.
