In the world, the pepper market on March 31 remained stable in other countries.
Accordingly, the price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia remained at $ 4,391/ton. The price of this country's Muntok white pepper is anchored at $ 6,179/ton.
Malaysia's Kuching ASTA black pepper price remained stable at $ 4,900/ton; This country's ASTA white pepper is still priced at $ 7,300/ton.
For the Brazilian market, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper remains at $ 4,500/ton.
In Vietnam, export prices of black pepper grades 500 and 550 g/l remained at $ 4,200 and $ 4,300/ton, respectively. The export price of white pepper is anchored at $ 6,000/ton.
World pepper prices today continue to move sideways. This week, the market reacted mixed with domestic and international pepper prices of Indian and Indonesian black pepper increasing.
Thus, world pepper prices on 03/31/2024 are unchanged compared to yesterday.
Domestically, the pepper market on March 31 continued to move sideways compared to yesterday.
Specifically, Dak Lak and Dak Nong are still trading at VND 95,000/kg;
In Gia Lai, pepper price today remained at VND 92,000/kg;
In Dong Nai, traders continue to purchase at a price of VND 92,500/kg;
The latest pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is anchored at VND 94,500/kg;
Traders in Binh Phuoc traded at a price of VND 94,000/kg.
Domestic pepper prices today remained stable with the highest threshold reaching VND 95,000/kg. This week, the domestic pepper market decreased by VND 500 - 1,000/kg.
Summary of March 2024, domestic pepper mainly increased. Of which, Binh Phuoc pepper price increased by VND 500; Ba Ria Vung Tau increased sharply by VND 1,500; Dak Lak and Dak Nong pepper price increased by VND 2,000. Other key areas' prices are moving sideways.
According to preliminary statistics of VPSA, in the first 16 days of March 2024, Vietnam exported 12,368 tons of pepper. Of which, there were 10,518 tons of black pepper and 1,850 tons of white pepper, earning $ 53 million.
In February 2024, Vietnam's average export pepper price reached $ 4,050/ton, an increase of 1.2% over the previous month and a sharp increase of 34.7% over the same period in 2023. In the first 2 months of 2024, the average export price of our country's pepper reached $ 4,022/ton, an increase of 28.1% over the same period in 2023.
Meanwhile, our country's pepper imports in the first 16 days of March 2024 reached 1,943 tons, total import turnover reached $ 7.2 million. The pepper import market into Vietnam mainly comes from Cambodia (accounting for 43.2%; reaching 840 tons) and Brazil (accounting for 42.4%; reaching 824 tons).
