In Dong Thap, An Giang, Can Tho and Hau Giang provinces, pangasius prices today, August 18, are VND 21,000-22,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Prices for 30-35 head-sized pangasius breeds are VND 25,000-30,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 7,000-10,000 compared to last month.

However, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), the pangasius breed prices must be VND 40,000-50,000 per kilogram, so pangasius breed producers are profitable.

The whole Mekong Delta region has about 120 pangasius breeds production facilities, with nearly 3,000 hectares and total production of about 0.9 billion pangasius breeds, equaling 100% of the same period in 2020.

However, recently when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out quickly in Ho Chi Minh City and spread to the Mekong Delta, raising fish and transporting raw materials to factories and processing plants also faced many difficulties.
