Recently, in Hai Phong city, the Israeli agricultural technology exhibition area opened. The Hai Phong City Department of Science and Technology collaborates with the Israel Economic and Commercial Office in Vietnam to organize the event.
The exhibition area includes the booths of 11 businesses from Israel with advanced technologies and equipment in the field of agriculture. These booths include drip irrigation technology and equipment, industrial and aquaculture water treatment technology, water storage and transportation solutions, flexible water containers, and new generation biogas technology and products.
Additionally, other technologies are also displayed and introduced. These include smart irrigation that applies high technology in agriculture, organic fertilizer production technology suitable for all crops, technology, equipment for classifying agricultural products, technology for producing high-quality, nutrient-rich microalgae, and equipment for collecting rainwater without electricity.
The event attracted many units and people to participate, including Mr. Yaron Mayer - Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam, and Mr. Tran Van Tung - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology. Mr. Le Khac Nam - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, leaders of units under the Ministry of Science and Technology, departments, branches, localities, Farmers' Union, Union of Cooperatives, and Israeli businesses… also attended the event.
At the opening ceremony, the delegates were introduced, learned, met, and exchanged directly with representatives of businesses, and experts in the field of high-tech agriculture from Israel.
This is an activity within the framework of Innovation Week and Hai Phong Startup Festival 2022 (Techfest Haiphong 2022) from September 27 to October 4, 2022.
These activities contribute to the promotion, introduction, and promotion of activities of cooperation, association, application, and transfer of technology, especially advanced technology from Israel to Hai Phong city in particular and the whole country in general. Consequently, these activities boost trade promotion and connect domestic and international technology supply and demand. At the same time, they contribute to economic restructuring, mastering and developing technology from abroad to Hai Phong city.
According to Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology, this is one of the activities to concretize the goals of the Decision No. 1851/QD-TTg dated December 27, 2018, and Decision 138/QD-TTg dated January 26, 2022, of the Prime Minister on policy orientations to support technology transfer, ownership, and development from abroad to Vietnam. These decisions support source, advanced, and foundation technologies to rapidly innovate technology and shorten the gap in technology level and capacity compared with developed countries in the region and the world.
After the opening, the Israel High-tech Agricultural Technology Exhibition Area will officially operate. It will serve research activities, trade promotion, and connecting technology supply-demand for organizations, businesses, and individuals in Vietnam and Israeli collaboration.
Israel is known as a country with 70% of the area being a barren desert full of stones, the rest are bare rocky hills with a harsh climate. However, the people here have researched and applied many modern technical methods to agriculture with great results.
The world highly appreciated Israel’s agricultural technologies and widely applied across countries. In Vietnam, drip irrigation systems save water up to 60-70% compared to conventional systems. It is the most widely applied and successful technology.
Advanced technologies in agriculture from Israel can be mentioned as the development of flood water collection systems, using legumes to absorb nitrogen to regenerate soil nitrogen. They also include drip irrigation technology that provides plants, machinery, and technology to manage the stages from tillage to harvest, saving maximum human effort...
