After the merger, Hanoi became a very diverse city in terms of craft villages, cultural identities and festivals. This recognition by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi has 6 new national intangible cultural heritages including: Tuong Phieu communal house festival in Tich Giang commune, Phuc Tho district; Ba Duong Noi village kite festival in Hong Ha commune, Dan Phuong district; Thay Pagoda Festival in Sai Son commune, Quoc Oai district; Keo village festival in Kim Son commune, Gia Lam district; Trach Xa sewing profession in Hoa Lam commune, Ung Hoa district; Phu Thuong sticky rice making profession, in Phu Thuong ward, Tay Ho district.
Some of these heritages not only create spiritual and cultural values for people but also create many jobs, help many households develop economically, and contribute partly to new rural areas in the locality. For example, Phu Thuong sticky rice village currently has about 600 households with thousands of workers, many households have an income of several tens of millions of dong/month. They can build spacious houses, and buy cars to transport goods for sale.
