Dynamic connection to World Trade Center Binh Duong New City

The theme of the World Trade Center Association 2023 WTCA Asia Pacific Regional Meeting (WTCA APRM 2023) was "Transforming WTC Operations in the Digital Age" and it began on August 8. 

The People's Committee of Binh Duong Province, the General Assembly of the World Trade Center Association (WTCA), the Becamex IDC Corporation, and WTC Binh Duong New City organized and directed this event.

According to Ms. Huynh Dinh Thai Linh - Director of WTC Binh Duong New City, WTCA APRM 2023 signifies the return of engaging trade and investment connection activities in the Asia-Pacific region.

After four years of establishment and development, WTC Binh Duong New City has become a new destination, a center connecting domestic and international commerce through numerous events, such as those on smart city development. Intelligence, science and technology, innovation, and global digital transformation have brought together many specialists, scientists, and businesses from all over the world to co-create new community values.

"More than 150 businesses now participate in WTC Binh Duong New City's activities as connecting members and are progressively enhancing trade promotion support services for local businesses. At the same time, attracting exhibitions to the province of Binh Duong, and promoting investment and trade connections between domestic and foreign partner businesses with WTC members in Asia, said Ms. Huynh Dinh Thai Linh.

Mr. Scott Wang, Vice President of the World Trade Center Association Asia-Pacific, stated at the forum that WTCA is a global organization with a network of over 90 countries and 319 WTC members with a 50-year history of establishment and growth. Particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, 94 WTCA members are currently working to promote global local connectivity.

"Binh Duong is a dynamic and creative locality; is transforming with the model of Industry - Urban - Smart service, ecological and affiliated with science and technology, innovation to attract industrial sectors, gradually moving up the industrial value chain. Mr. Scott Wang emphasized that the selection of Binh Duong and Vietnam for the special event WTCA APRM 2023 demonstrates the development and vitality of WTC Binh Duong New City.

According to Ms. Crystal Edn - Director, Member Services of the World Trade Center Association, despite WTC Binh Duong New City's youth, it has demonstrated its vitality and is progressively establishing itself as a new hub for global trade connections in Binh Duong and Vietnam.

"Other WTCs concur that Binh Duong and Vietnam are undergoing accelerated development. Global WTCs are also excited to collaborate with domestic and international experts to share content, lessons learned, and business opportunities at this forum, according to Ms. Crystal Edn.

Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, stated that Binh Duong is one of the most developed industrial regions in Vietnam, with 29 industrial parks and 12 industrial clusters; the economic scale of the total product in Binh Duong province in 2022 will exceed 459 trillion VND; and the GRDP per capita will reach 7,000 USD/year.

Binh Duong has attracted more than 4,100 FDI projects with a total capital of over 40 billion USD from 65 countries and territories for investment, production, and business, making it the second city in Vietnam in terms of attracting FDI.

Becamex IDC has contributed to the development of WTC Binh Duong New City. Becamex IDC is a pioneering organization that is always at the vanguard of local activities. The relationship between the new service ecosystem and the province's smart city development strategy is close.
