Vietnam Prime Minister highlights 5 consensus results of P4G Summit

(VAN) On the afternoon of April 17, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the closing ceremony of the P4G Vietnam Summit 2025, with the theme 'Sustainable and People-Centered Green Transformation.'
 

On the afternoon of April 17, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the closing ceremony of the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Vietnam Summit 2025, with the theme “Sustainable and People-Centered Green Transformation.”

 

“We reached a common understanding that green transition is an inevitable journey, an objective requirement, a strategic choice and a top priority for successfully achieving sustainable development goals,” he said, adding that this process requires global, multi-stakeholder collaboration among governments, businesses, communities and individuals, to ensure inclusive and equitable growth.

Many insightful opinions, valuable lessons, inspiring stories and breakthrough initiatives were shared during the summit’s discussions, alongside numerous practical activities, such as an exhibition of green products and solutions, and a business networking session.

This process requires global cooperation, multi-stakeholder cooperation between the Government, businesses, communities, and all people to ensure inclusive and equitable development, leaving no one behind.

 

PM Chinh emphasized that the discussions were lively, with many profound opinions shared, valuable lessons, good stories, successes, and numerous breakthrough initiatives proposed for green development. At the same time, within the framework of the P4G Summit, various practical activities were organized, including an Exhibition of green solutions and green products, as well as side events that brought businesses together.

On behalf of the Government, the Vietnamese PM expressed his gratitude for the attention, sense of responsibility, and important contributions of the delegates attending the P4G Summit.

 

Expressing gratitude towards the collective efforts that were put into the success of the summit, PM Chinh underscored the five agreements from the event. The first was a consensus on mobilising financial resources to promote green transition and sustainable development, including public-private partnership models and innovative financial policies.

Second, Delegates also agreed on encouraging research and development of green technology solutions and increasing investment in innovation and start-up ecosystems. This is expected to facilitate the access of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to the necessary resources and support.

 

The third consensus focused on sustainably transforming agricultural and food systems, which ensures food and nutritional security while playing a crucial role in environmental protection and sustainable development.

Fourth, consensus on the development and training of a high-quality workforce, especially in the fields of science, technology, and innovation; creating conditions for all individuals to have access to adequate education, expanding employment opportunities, and reducing social inequality.

Fifth, consensus on an efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly energy transition; strengthening cooperation in technology development and sharing, providing preferential loans for renewable energy projects, building necessary infrastructure to support the energy transition, and encouraging private sector participation in this field.

 

At the closing ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh officially transferred the role of host of the fifth P4G Summit to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wished Ethiopia a successful hosting of the P4G Summit in 2027, continuing to promote the significance of the P4G cooperation process after the successes of the Summits in Denmark, South Korea, Colombia and Vietnam.

 

According to the lead of Vietnamese Government, the fourth P4G Summit was a great success, contributing to the promotion of the role of multilateral cooperation in driving green transformation and sustainable development. Through this Summit, the Prime Minister believes that delegates have witnessed and felt Vietnam's spirit of effort and responsibility in implementing its commitments to sustainable development and green growth, in general, and within the framework of P4G, in particular.

 

"Through the Conference, Vietnam once again affirms its foreign policy of peace, independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, being a good friend, a reliable partner with all countries in the world, a responsible member of the international community; at the same time, steadfast in the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, contributing to promoting inclusive and sustainable green transformation, towards a green planet for today's and future generations," the Prime Minister expressed.

April 16, on the sidelines of the P4G Summit, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy had a bilateral meeting with UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed. At the meeting, the Minister raised 10 important proposals to senior UN leaders, including 5 issues on climate change and environment, and 5 issues on agri-food systems. On this occasion, The UN Deputy Secretary-General recognized Vietnam as a pioneer in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving a just energy transition.
