According to Mr. Tran Van Son, CEO of Gia Bao Group, the project to construct the agricultural and food processing plant in Ba Tu, Binh Phuoc province, involves an initial investment of $ 6.5 million. It covers an area of 20,000 m2 with a capacity of 400 thousand tons/year and is expected to be completed by June 2025.
The project's objective is to transform the plant into a green agricultural processing centre in the cashew capital of Binh Phuoc, thereby creating opportunities to develop the value of agricultural products in general and speciality cashew products in Binh Phuoc province and neighbouring provinces.
Additionally, the construction of this large-scale plant serves as a prerequisite for the enterprise to accompany cashew farmers in Binh Phuoc and across the country, contributing to the establishment and maintenance of the national cashew brand's position in the international market.
With over 30 years of experience closely connected to cashew trees in Binh Phuoc, known as the cashew capital of Vietnam, we recognize our important role in enhancing the value of Vietnamese agricultural products and bringing our homeland cashew brand closer to every Vietnamese and international friend.
The establishment of the Green Cashew Plant in the locality is not only a place to develop the cashew industry to new heights but also a way for us to contribute to the overall development of the trend of greening Vietnam's agriculture. It creates job opportunities for farmers and ethnic minorities, aiming for stable livelihoods," emphasized Mr. Tran Van Son, CEO of Gia Bao Group, and co-founder of the Green Cashew Project.
Attending and delivering congratulatory remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Phu District, expressed his enthusiasm, stating that in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister on the Strategy for Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development, the local authorities have created favourable conditions for enterprises and residents to move towards sustainable and green agricultural production. They encourage investors to propose ideas and develop the products of businesses, promote local specialities, develop brands, and distribute local products to consumers, especially international friends.
"The groundbreaking ceremony of the Green Cashew Nut processing plant in Binh Phuoc is a significant milestone in promoting the sustainable development of the local agricultural sector. This not only helps improve productivity and product quality but also creates job opportunities and increases income for local residents. It demonstrates that this is also one of the important models that will contribute positively to the sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas in Dong Phu District, Binh Phuoc Province in particular, in the coming time", emphasized Mr Nguyen Anh Tuan.
In the program, the organizing committee also presented 50 gifts to vulnerable groups, cooperatives of cashew farmers, ethnic minorities, etc. Each gift included essential necessities worth over 500,000 Vietnamese dong to encourage spirits and create motivation for them to strive for a better life.
