Mr. Ngo Xuan Chinh, Director of the Center for Research and Transfer of Agricultural Technical Advancement, the Institute of Agricultural Science for Southern Vietnam, stated: "Vietnam and China share many similarities in agricultural conditions and structure. Professor He Xiongkui's invitation for cooperation in research and technology transfer between the two countries is expected to bring practical benefits."

In discussions with China Agricultural University, Mr. Chinh proposed cooperation in transferring advanced innovations and transportation technologies for harvesting and processing agricultural products in key sectors of both countries, aiming to reduce labor costs and enhance production efficiency.

Additionally, Vietnam seeks to develop research on pest control for fruit trees and industrial crops.

Mr. Chinh emphasized that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is focusing investments on science, technology, and innovation, creating favorable conditions for in-depth agricultural research cooperation between Vietnam and China.

With a history of 100 years, the Institute of Agricultural Science for Southern Vietnam serves as a key provider of major crop varieties in the Mekong Delta region, supplying 90% of the rice varieties used for domestic production and international export.

Additionally, the Institute is currently focused on developing young human resources, investing in specialized training, and emphasizing the application of science and technology in modern and sustainable agricultural production.

Appreciating the exhibition space of AGRITECHNICA ASIA Vietnam 2025, the Institute has collaborated with the National Agricultural Extension Center and the Vietnam Agriculture and Nature Newspaper to invite 500 farmers to attend the event. According to Mr. Chinh, this is a valuable opportunity for the future workforce of the country to learn from global advancements and apply them to their own farms in the future.

During his visit to the Southern Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology, Professor He Xiongkui, Dean of the Center for Chemicals Application Technology & College of Agricultural Unmanned System, China Agricultural University (CAU), introduced: "Our university is a leading institution in the country's agricultural research sector. With over 40,000 students, 23 colleges, 180 professors, and a team of more than 1,000 staff members, we are at the forefront of scientific research and technological applications in agricultural production".

In the trend of smart agriculture development, CAU continues to expand its cooperation with international partners. The university has established connections with global institutions and has expressed a keen interest in learning about research institutes and universities in Vietnam, with a particular focus on the Institute of Agricultural Science for Southern Vietnam.

The professor hopes that both sides will collaborate on the application of automation and mechanization in agricultural production, exchange production techniques, and visit advanced farming models to improve product quality and meet export standards.

The university focuses on developing modern agricultural technology, including drones for plant protection, robots for soil science support, cultivation, and harvesting.

Notably, since 2019, the university has intensified the selection and training of high-quality human resources across various fields, as well as implemented scholarship programs for master's and doctoral students.

Therefore, both parties expect to establish research exchange programs, thereby fostering scientific collaboration and enhancing research capacity.
