Globally, both the London and New York exchanges have reversed and decreased on December 18.
On the London exchange, Robusta prices for January 2025 delivery fell by $ 14 (equivalent to 0.27%), settling at $ 5,216/ton, while the March 2025 contract decreased by $ 35 (equivalent to 0.67%), reaching $ 5,168/ton.
Meanwhile, on the New York exchange, Arabica prices for March 2025 delivery slightly declined by 2.45 cents (equivalent to 0.75%), settling at 324.95 cents/lb, and the May 2025 contract dropped by 2.75 cents (equivalent to 0.85%), to 321.90 cents/lb.

Global coffee prices today turned slightly lower on both the London and New York exchanges as the Fed began its first day of meetings. A weaker Brazilian real pushed traders to sell their stock in the market, causing Arabica prices to decline.
The global currency market is in a state of anticipation, with all upward or downward movements temporary as markets await the Fed's official decision. Speculation on the exchanges is focused on the possibility of the Fed lowering interest rates during its December 18–19 meeting, with particular attention to projections for 2025.
Additionally, this week is packed with meetings of central banks worldwide. Among the major central banks, the Fed, the Bank of England (BOE), and the Bank of Japan (BOJ) are expected to announce their final interest rate decisions for 2024.
Monetary policymakers across other economies in Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America are also expected to adjust interest rates during their respective meetings this week.
Thus, global coffee prices on December 18, 2024, simultaneously declined slightly compared to yesterday.
Domestically, the coffee market today, December 18, fell slightly by VND 400 compared to yesterday.
Specifically, in Lam Dong province, the three districts of Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha are all trading at VND 123,000/kg.
In Dak Lak province, Cu M'gar district is purchasing coffee at VND 124,200/kg, while Ea H'leo and Buon Ho districts are trading at VND 124,100/kg.
In Dak Nong province, traders in Gia Nghia and Dak R'lap are trading at VND 124,400/kg and VND 124,300/kg, respectively.
In Gia Lai province, Chu Prong district is trading at VND 124,200/kg, while Pleiku and La Grai districts remain at VND 124,100/kg.
Meanwhile, in Kon Tum province, coffee is being purchased at VND 124,200/kg today.
Thus, domestic coffee prices on December 18, 2024, are trading around the range of VND 123,000 - 124,400/kg.
