Coffee prices on June 30 in the world market continued to decrease at both major exchanges.
At the time of the survey, the price of Robusta coffee on the London exchange for delivery in July 2023 decreased by $ 46/ton (equivalent to 1.76%); down to $ 2,570/ton.
And the price of coffee delivered in September 2023 on this exchange decreased by $ 47/ton (equivalent to 1.86%), at $ 2,474/ton.
The price of Arabica coffee on the New York exchange delivered in July 2023 decreased by 0.35 cents/lb (equivalent to 0.22%); to 161.60 cents/lb.
For the delivery term in September 2023, the price of coffee on this exchange decreased by 0.55 cents/lb (equivalent to 0.34%); to 160.25 cents/lb.
World coffee prices today continued to go down for the second session, in the context of the USD rising to a high level.
The dollar rose to a two-week high after economic data showed the labour market remained tight, creating room for the Fed to continue raising interest rates.
Investors strongly moved capital flows away from derivatives exchanges to find a safe haven. The decline of Robusta coffee is also due to the fact that this floor has too many short contracts. Because before, speculators chose this coffee item as a shelter for cash flow.
Meanwhile, Arabica coffee is no longer falling sharply but is still affected by the pressure of the new crop from Brazil. Previously, Colombia's May export report increased sharply by 22% over the same period. Brazil's government announced $ 76 billion in funding to promote sustainable coffee production, causing commodity funds to sell strongly, and pushing the market down.
Thus, the price of coffee on 06/30/2023 in the world market continues to decrease compared to yesterday.
