World coffee price today May 9

In the world market, coffee prices today 05/09 fluctuated oppositely in 2 major exchanges.

At the time of the survey, the price of Robusta coffee on the London exchange for delivery in July 2023 was flat, holding at $2,471/ton.

And the price of coffee delivered in September 2023 on this exchange is unchanged; at $2,446/ton.

The price of Arabica coffee on the New York Stock Exchange delivered in July 2023 also fell sharply by 4.10 cents/lb (equivalent to 2.18%); down to 183.95 cents/lb.

For the September delivery term, the price of coffee on this exchange decreased by 4 cents/lb (2.16%), down to 181.60 cents/lb.

World coffee prices today increased and decreased in opposite directions. The price stabilized on the London exchange but fell more than 2% on the New York exchange.

The fact that the London exchange stopped trading to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III made Robusta coffee on this exchange stable.

Meanwhile, favorable weather in coffee-harvesting regions in Brazil pushed Arabica coffee on the New York exchange lower, despite low inventories. And this will create conditions for coffee prices on the London exchange to increase when trading returns.

In addition, Bloomberg's comment that Vietnam's Robusta coffee output this year may fall to the lowest level in 4 years will make this coffee product continue to increase in the near future.

They believe that the cause of the decrease in output is the fact that farmers focus more on growing durian while the cash flow is concentrated in real estate.

Thus, the price of coffee today 05/09/2023 in the world market increased and decreased oppositely compared to yesterday.

Domestic coffee price today May 9

Coffee prices today 05/09 in the domestic market remained stable compared to yesterday.

Specifically, the price of Lam Dong coffee in 3 districts of Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha is being purchased at VND 53,200/kg today.

In Cu M'gar district (Dak Lak), the price of coffee today remained at VND 53,900/kg. In Ea H'leo and Buon Ho districts, today's coffee price in Dak Lak is at VND 53,800/kg.

Coffee prices in Gia Nghia and Dak R'lap of Dak Nong province today are at VND 53,800 and VND 53,700/kg, respectively.

In Gia Lai, the price of coffee in Chu Prong today is at VND 53,800/kg; while at Pleiku and La Grai are holding at VND 53,700/kg.

The price of coffee today in Kon Tum is VND 53,800/kg.

The domestic price of coffee today is stable and is still approaching the milestone of VND 54,000/kg.

In a survey by Bloomberg, our country's coffee harvest this year may decrease by more than 7% compared to the previous year; down to 1.67 million tons. This is according to average estimates of exporters and traders.

With such a sharp decrease in output, domestic coffee prices will likely continue to increase in the near future.

Thus, the price of coffee today 05/09/2023 in the domestic market traded around the threshold of VND 53,200 - 53,900/kg.
