Binh Phuoc has a strategic and key economic position in the Southeast. Traffic and geographical advantages help Binh Phuoc have strengths in economic development. Binh Phuoc has planned to develop and form large-scale production areas and high economic value chains to meet domestic and foreign market trends. Of which, building disease-free areas is considered a key factor in attracting investors into livestock farming.
The proof is that while the livestock capital of Dong Nai shows signs of overload, in recent years, many businesses have selected Binh Phuoc as a new destination. C.P. Vietnam Livestock JSC is one of the investors with key and outstanding projects in the area. Among them is the CPV Food chicken breeding and processing factory complex for export, with an initial investment capital of up to USD 250 million.
Mr. Montri Suwanposri, Vice Chairman of CPF (under CP Group in Thailand), said that the company determines that disease-free livestock farming is considered a key stage, creating breakthroughs in both productivity and quality towards sustainable livestock farming and export. Therefore, at CPV Food Binh Phuoc, imported parent chicken breeds all have outstanding genetics to ensure that the chick flock inherits beautiful stature, a large and healthy skeletal frame, and naturally develops quickly.
"Eggs are transported by air-conditioned trucks to ensure that all chicks hatch in good health and are disease-free. When arriving at the hatchery factory, eggs are sprayed with disinfectant and checked by an automatic sorting machine. The hatchery factory uses advanced technology to control temperature, air, and humidity at every stage," said Mr. Montri Suwanposri.
Particularly, this is the first factory in Asia to deploy the technology of vaccinating directly into eggs with embryos, ensuring 100% of the broiler flock is protected from diseases. Each farm is zoned to completely separate inside and outside areas, meeting biosafety regulations and minimizing the risk of infection.
At broiler farms, CPV Food Binh Phuoc strictly complies with European standards on animal welfare. The chicken flock is carefully cared for in a good farming environment to ensure clean and delicious meat. In particular, Big Data technology is applied in the smart farm system to collect data on water and food intake, weight, and temperature of broilers throughout the farming period. All data is transferred to the analysis center in real time to maximize farm management efficiency.
"Currently, six areas of Binh Phuoc province have been recognized by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH/OIE) as the first disease-free areas in Vietnam. In each district, CPV Food Company has built a system of safe production barns for bird flu and chicken cholera diseases according to the standards of WOAH/OIE," said the Vice Chairman of CPF.
Binh Phuoc strives to ensure that by 2030, the province will successfully build a cattle and poultry disease-free livestock area according to the regulations of Vietnam and the standards of WOAH/OIE. Thereby, creating conditions for developing sustainable livestock farming and farming chains, improving product value, and providing safe products for domestic consumption and export.
In addition to the chicken farm (Farm), in the CPV Food Binh Phuoc super complex there is also an animal feed factory (Feed) and a concentrated slaughterhouse and food processing factory (Food). The connection between Feed-Farm-Food creates a closed 3 F-Plus model that is the most modern in Southeast Asia.
In 2023 alone, the factory's export sales increased more than three times compared to 2021 and were exported to markets including Japan, Hong Kong, Laos, Cambodia, etc. From 2024, the factory in Binh Phuoc will aim to increase its export value to USD 200 million/year and expand the export market to more demanding markets such as the Middle East, where the majority of people are Muslims.
"C.P. Vietnam's goal is to turn Binh Phuoc into the export chicken capital of Vietnam, not just cashew or rubber trees. Binh Phuoc will be the locality with the largest chicken export scale in Southeast Asia," Mr. Wirat Wongpornpakdee emphasized.
Mr. Tran Van Phuong, Deputy Director of Binh Phuoc Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, assessed that, right from the first days of operation, CPV Food Binh Phuoc has been highly appreciated for building disease-free areas.
The company has implemented 100% traceability of the supply chain, from animal feed raw materials to product processing, and has deployed poultry disease surveillance programs associated with monitoring the food safety supply chain. This fully meets the requirements on animal welfare, veterinary hygiene for slaughter facilities, and food safety production for export.
"Up to this point, CPV Food Binh Phuoc is the most modern factory of C.P in Vietnam. After 4 years of operation, this business is conquering demanding markets, putting Vietnam on the map of exporting poultry meat to the world.
We expect that CPV Food Binh Phuoc will continue to strengthen production capacity, create breakthroughs, expand markets, and provide high-quality products to more countries," Mr. Phuong emphasized.
Besides C.P. Vietnam Livestock JSC, Binh Phuoc is also the destination where De Heus Group (Netherlands) looks for partners and implements a chicken farming chain linkage model for export to Japan.
At the recent 'Business Connection Forum: Industrial, Trading and High-Tech Agriculture EuroCham—Binh Phuoc Province 2024', Mr. Gabor Fluit, General Director of De Heus Global, also revealed that De Heus continues to promote the implementation of the project on building raw material areas for animal feed production in Vietnam. Of which, raw material areas are mainly concentrated in the Central Highlands provinces and will be expanded to some strong provinces, such as Binh Phuoc.
"With the desire to develop a white-feathered chicken farming linkage chain for export, De Heus Group wishes Binh Phuoc province to coordinate and support the business in building disease-free areas. When conditions are suitable, De Heus Group will invest in an animal feed production factory in a chain and invest in further developing the field of poultry breeds in Binh Phuoc province," shared Mr. Gabor Fluit.
According to Mr. Huynh Anh Minh, Vice Chairman of the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee, the locality identified that in order for the livestock industry to develop sustainably, building disease-free livestock areas that meet food safety standards and aiming to expand consumption markets and serve exports is extremely necessary.
Binh Phuoc has, is, and will always prioritize, encourage, and create favorable conditions to develop industrial, concentrated, biosafety, and environmentally safe livestock projects. Attract investors in livestock farming along the value chain from production to processing and consumption to improve product value, meet the increasingly high demand of the domestic market, and aim for export.
"Binh Phuoc has been implementing the 4-good foundation, including 'good infrastructure, good human resources, good policies, and good public services.' Hopefully, the linkage chain from De Heus will continue to develop, expand scale, and build feed processing and breeding factories, as well as slaughter and food processing factories. Thereby, creating quality products, meeting the needs of domestic and export markets, increasing the value of livestock products, bringing higher profits to livestock farmers, and contributing to the province's socio-economic development," shared Mr. Huynh Anh Minh, Vice Chairman of the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee.
