According to a recent MoIT decision, an investigation is being undertaken into certain table and chair goods classified as 9401.30.00; 9401.40.00; 9401.61.00; 9401.69.90; 9401.71.00; 9401.79.90; 9401.80.00; 9401.90.40; 9401.90.92; 9401.90.99; 9403.30.00; 9403.60.90; 9403.90.90.

The judgment was made based on the verification results provided by companies qualified to represent the domestic manufacturing sector in line with the trade remedy rules.

Following the decision, the Vietnam Trade Remedies Authority will send investigative questions to stakeholders in order to collect information, analyze, and assess the accused content, which includes the dumping of export enterprises from China and Malaysia; injury to the domestic manufacturing industry; and cause-and-effect relationship between dumping and injury to the domestic industry.

In certain critical cases, based on the preliminary investigation's findings, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam and the Ministry of Industry and Trade may impose temporary anti-dumping measures to prevent dumpers from continuing to cause chaos on local manufacturing.

Before reaching a final decision on the issues, the authority would check and analyze the information supplied by stakeholders. Simultaneously, it will conduct public consultations to allow stakeholders to directly exchange information, give input, and express their perspectives on the issues.

It is recommended that all organizations and people involved in the export, import, distribution, business, and usage of the examined products register as associated parties and give the authority with any information required to protect their rights and interests under applicable legislation.
