According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on June 28, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) issued the last result of the 16th period of review (POR16) for the period between August 1, 2018, and July 31, 2019, on Vietnamese tra and basa fish (pangasius) exported to the US.

The last conclusion said that DOC determined the anti-dumping tax rate for Vinh Hoan Joint Stock Company and Nam Viet Joint Stock Company in this review to be 0 USD/kg while the anti-dumping tax rate for Vietnamese producers and exporters of pangasius remains unchanged at USD 2.39 per kg. In general, this is a positive result for Vietnam's seafood production and export industry.

Currently, the DOC is conducting a review of POR17. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnamese exporters, and the US side to handle related issues to ensure the country's rights and legitimate interests in the case.

According to VASEP, in the first five months of 2021, the total value of pangasius exports to the US reached USD 134.2 million, up 55.3% year on year. In particular, in May 2021, the export value reached USD32.2 million, up 173.4 %.
