Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Can Tho 2023 is chaired by the Vietnam Tourism Association, with the coordination of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, Mekong Delta Tourism Association, and Can Tho City Tourism Association.
Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said that the VITM Can Tho 2023 fair has the theme "Eco-tourism" - the strength of the Mekong Delta region (Mekong Delta). The fair will gather businesses and localities to introduce unique eco-tourism products from 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta.
Thereby, in order to promote recovery and accelerate the development of Can Tho tourism, while enhancing the position of Can Tho - the tourism center of the Mekong Delta, contributing to rapidly increasing the number of tourists to Can Tho in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general.
Ms. Dao Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of Can Tho City Department of Tourism, said that the fair has a scale of 350 booths on tourism, trade, and cuisine from 40 provinces and cities nationwide and 10 countries. Expected to attract 20,000 - 30,000 visitors to work, visit and shop at the event.
"VITM Can Tho 2023 will create opportunities for tourism organizations and businesses in Can Tho, the Mekong Delta region, and the whole country to promote their brands, Introduce products, and develop business cooperation with domestic and international tourism businesses", Ms.Thuy said and added that the Mekong Delta is an area with diverse and unique ecotourism resources.
With the theme "Eco-Tourism - Mekong Delta", VITM Can Tho 2023 will contribute to enhancing the Mekong Delta tourism brand on the basis of developing a specific ecotourism region, which has unique and outstanding ecotourism products in the region and the world.
It is expected that 2,000 Vietnamese and international businesses will come to work during the 3 days of VITM Can Tho Fair 2023. Among them, there are 60 international travel businesses from the markets of France, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia... and 60 leading travel businesses in Vietnam.
At the fair, tourism businesses and destination management agencies will introduce and directly provide products to tourists, for partner businesses to attract tourists to Can Tho City, to the Mekong Delta region, and to Vietnam.
Restaurants, hotels, and culinary businesses will introduce the uniqueness of Mekong Delta cuisine to domestic and international visitors and tourism businesses.
Within the framework of the VITM Can Tho 2023 fair, it is expected that two survey delegations will include Vietnamese and international travelers who will visit typical tourist destinations and work with tourism businesses in the Mekong Delta region. Thereby, businesses will evaluate the unique tourism products of the region, and service quality and develop tourism programs to promote and sell those products to tourists.
Many specialized tourism activities are also organized on a large scale, such as the forum "Eco-tourism in the Mekong Delta: Current status and development solutions"; program "Introducing tourism products of the Mekong Delta provinces"; tourism product introduction program, introducing destinations of localities throughout the country and international organizations; performing, introducing, voting and honoring typical dishes of Can Tho and the Mekong Delta...
Rural tourism development is one of the solutions and key tasks of the National Target Program on building a new countryside in the 2021-2025 period. On the basis of changing thinking from agricultural production to rural economic development, contributing to supporting localities to implement effectively and sustainably the development of new rural areas (Decision No. 922/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the approval of the rural tourism development program in new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period).
