Tan Phuoc attracts investment in 15 projects

(VAN) Tan Phuoc District People's Committee introduced 15 investment projects in the fields of industry, agriculture, commerce and tourism.

On August 19, the People's Committee of Tan Phuoc district, Tien Giang province held a conference to introduce investment opportunities for nearly 100 businesses and investors.

Tan Phuoc district belongs to Dong Thap Muoi ecological sub-region, established for nearly 30 years. The district has 12 communes and towns, with a natural land area of more than 33,000 ha and a population of nearly 67,000 people. With the attention and investment of the central government and the province, recently, the socio-economic situation of Tan Phuoc has made remarkable progress. From the fallow land full of Melaleuca forests, up to now, Tan Phuoc people have reclaimed land to plant 6,000 ha of rice, 15,000 ha of pineapples, 1,000 ha of yams, 1,000 ha of dragon fruit trees, 800 ha of jackfruit trees. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction, with the per capita income reaching over VND 65 million/year.

Tan Phuoc district has its characteristics and advantages to attract investors. The whole district has 7 important traffic routes connecting National Highway 1A, Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway and implementing the Dong Thap Muoi road project connecting the district centre to Trung Luong - My Thuan highway. The waterway system has been opened and connected continuously, including the Nguyen Van Tiep canal connecting the inter-region to Ho Chi Minh City.

There are also 9 relics in the area, including 1 national-level relic, 8 provincial-level relics, Truc Lam Chanh Giac Zen Monastery, a 106-ha of ecological conservation area with 60 rare species of birds and animals; 2 eco-tourism sites that attract a large number of tourists from all over the world.

Recently, Tan Phuoc district has focused on developing industry, trade and services, creating favourable conditions for businesses to invest in economic development. The area has a stable Long Giang industrial park that attracts many Chinese, Japanese, and Singapore investors; 2 industrial zones Tan Phuoc 1, and Tan Phuoc 2 have been planned with an area of 730ha. In addition, the district also plans to subdivide the 131 ha of Thanh Tan industrial area, 180 ha of livestock and livestock logistics and 200 ha of public land in the district centre, which is inviting and attracting investment in industrial production.

Currently, a wave of investment in this new land is being developed. Mr. Quach Trung Kien, owner of Trung Kien eco-tourism business in Thanh My commune, Tan Phuoc district commented that the investment environment in Tan Phuoc district is very good. In terms of land, there are many large sample fields. Investment opportunities, especially tourism development in Tan Phuoc are very good. It is possible to carry out spiritual tourism and ecotourism projects.

Regarding investment attraction policies, Mr Tran Hoang Phong, Chairman of Tan Phuoc District People's Committee said, Tan Phuoc is still a poor district, so tax incentives are many. Investment businesses will benefit because socio-economic conditions have reduced difficulties and have many development opportunities. The industries have a priority list, depending on the field of investment attraction in terms of socialization, the industrial cluster of Tan Phuoc district has its priority policy.

Investors will enjoy many preferential policies such as: exemption or reduction of land rent, water surface, and non-agricultural land use tax,... Corporate income tax from the implementation of new investment projects in areas with socio-economic conditions according to the Government's regulations may apply the corporate income tax rate of 10% for 15 years from the date of operation with revenue. At the same time, they are exempted from corporate income tax for 4 years, reduced by 50% of the payable tax amount for the next 9 years when they have taxable income (excluding loss transfer).

At the conference, Tan Phuoc District People's Committee introduced 15 projects calling for investment, including 5 industrial development projects. In particular, in the agricultural sector, Tan Phuoc district is calling investment for in 2 projects. Project Complex of agricultural production and processing projects applying advanced technology in Tan Phuoc district has a scale of 200 ha on public land. The project of livestock area and livestock logistics services in Thanh Hoa commune with a scale of 180.3 ha is also on public land.

The People's Committee of Tien Giang province has invested in many transportation and irrigation infrastructure projects to exploit this potential land.
