Ho Chi Minh City Green Economy Forum (HEF) 2023 with the theme "Green Growth - Journey towards net zero emission reduction" attracted more than 1,200 delegates from international financial institutions, international organizations such as the World Economic Forum (WEF); Managers and leaders of foreign localities from 21 countries, representatives of diplomatic agencies, consular agencies, domestic and foreign businesses; domestic experts and experts in the successful implementation of green growth.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, stated at the inauguration of HEF 2023 that Ho Chi Minh City is honored to meet, listen, communicate, and share on the very important topic "Green Growth - journey towards net zero emissions".

"Ho Chi Minh City, along with many other urban areas around the world, has plainly witnessed the effects of climate change, as well as the inadequacies and lack of synchronization that must be addressed, further compelling us to connect more closely, powerfully, and effectively in order to respond.
We recognize that traditional economic development is no longer the best option, but that the focus has shifted to creating a new journey, a green growth journey with a vision, a sustainable future", the Secretariat said, adding that Ho Chi Minh City is urgently completing the "Green Development Strategy Framework to 2030, vision to 2050" in order to build the city into a civilized, modern, and compassionate urban area that is an attractive investment destination.
According to Secretary Nen, HEF 2023 is one of the actions to realize the contents of cooperation between the Government of Vietnam and the World Economic Forum signed on June 26, 2023, and simultaneously discuss the contents of cooperation between the Government of Vietnam and the World Economic Forum signed on June 26, 2023 and the establishment of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center in Ho Chi Minh City to strengthen cooperation with the fourth industrial revolution.

In particular, a ceremony was held within the framework of the Forum to proclaim and give over the Joint Declaration on cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
On the side line of the Forum, Green Growth Show 2023 Exhibition Space was officially opened on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street on September 13 under the direction of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the City Trade and Investment Promotion Center (ITPC), the Department of Culture and Sports, Saigon Tourism Corporation Limited, and other related departments and units.
100 Vietnamese and international businesses will participate in the 2023 Green Growth Show, bringing together leading brands from Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City to exhibit 9 typical green growth product and service groups, including green energy; green, organic agriculture; green production, green export; green transportation; green, smart urban areas; green environment; green consumption; green finance; green tourism.
The exhibition features a distinct space for Ho Chi Minh City businesses granted the title of "Green Enterprise and Innovative Enterprise." This space presents information and images regarding the implementation of Ho Chi Minh City's green development strategy.
