The final piece of the Vinaseed Group

On October 8, the Central Quang Nam Crop Seed Company (Vinaseed Quang Nam) held a ceremony to inaugurate Vinaseed Quang Nam seed processing and preservation factory. The event was attended by nearly 300 delegates, including leaders from the agriculture sector of the South Central Coast provinces, as well as agents, cooperatives and customers in the crop seed industry.

As a member of the Vinaseed Group, Vinaseed Quang Nam inherits a sophisticated management system that adheres to international standards, along with a range of high-quality proprietary crop seed products that are specifically designed to adapt to climate change. Thanks to the attention and support from the leadership of Vinaseed Group, the company is continuously modernizing its infrastructure to improve its production capabilities and business operations.

In 2024, the company plans to invest in the construction of new offices, factories, production lines, and equipment, with a total budget exceeding approximately 2 million USD, all financed through its own capital. With the incorporation of modern technology, the facility will have a drying, processing and preservation capacity of 30.000 tons/year. This enhancement will elevate Vinaseed Quang Nam's overall processing and preservation capacity to 40.000 tons/year. This development represents a significant milestone in the company's journey, showcasing its growth and consolidation in the industry. It positions Vinaseed Quang Nam as the leading seed company in terms of both scale and market share in the Central region.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, the Director of the Central Quang Nam Crop Seed Company, highlighted that in addition to investing in and modernizing the company’s facilities, Vinaseed Quang Nam takes great pride in having established a dedicated and cohesive workforce. This team is unwavering in the face of challenges and committed wholeheartedly to their roles. He also noted the crucial support and trust from various governmental agencies and organizations at both the central and local levels, as well as from suppliers, contractors, and esteemed customers. Particularly noteworthy is the confidence and favorable conditions provided by the leadership of Vinaseed Group, which have played a pivotal role in enabling Vinaseed Quang Nam to achieve the success it enjoys today.

"By following the strategic direction of Vinaseed Group, which emphasizes 'responsible business practices and sustainable development, along with our dedicated efforts, we are confident that we will create significant value that contributes to the overall development of the economy. This will establish a solid foundation for the future growth of the company. Vinaseed Quang Nam, together with other member units of Vinaseed Group, will contribute to abundant harvests and work hand in hand to build a brighter future for Vietnamese agriculture", Mr. Chinh shared.

At the inauguration ceremony, Mrs. Tran Kim Lien, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vinaseed Group, expressed her gratitude for the support, assistance, and collaboration from all government agencies, both central and local, where Vinaseed operates. She also acknowledged the contributions, partnership, and loyalty of the various partners and customers who stand by Vinaseed Group across the country.

The inauguration of the Vinaseed Quang Nam seed processing and preservation factory signifies the final piece in the expansive landscape of Vinaseed Group, spanning from the North to the South of Vietnam. This significant milestone not only highlights the presence of Vinaseed but also emphasizes its transformation into a modern and innovative company dedicated to the industrialization of seeds. By enhancing the quality of seeds, Vinaseed aims to contribute meaningfully to the agricultural sector and support the development of Vietnam's agriculture.

For the Central region market, Vinaseed Quang Nam has been entrusted with the important mission of turning that dream and aspiration into reality. We have established ambitious objectives and are fully committed to accompanying Vinaseed Quang Nam on its journey to reach new heights. Our aim is for Vinaseed Quang Nam to rise to become one of the top three seed companies by the year 2030. This includes achieving a business volume of 40.000 tons/year and generating an annual profit of approximately 1.7 million USD.

“In addition, we will continuously innovate in science and technology, as well as train our workforce, to collaborate with the agricultural system of the province and the extension services at the district and commune levels. Our goal is to transfer scientific and technological advancements and provide vocational training to local farmers. This approach aims to create a value chain that offers sustainable agricultural development solutions. Ultimately, all of these efforts are intended to enhance the quality of life for the community”, Mrs. Lien affirmed.

Aiming to establish Quang Nam as a technology hub for agriculture

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Nam Province, in the local agricultural restructuring plan, the crop sector, particularly for food crops like rice, needs to be reorganized. The strategy aims to maintain the cultivated area for irrigated rice at approximately 36.000ha in the lowland districts, with an annual total production of around 450.000 tons. Additionally, a dedicated area of 5.000ha will be allocated for the production of rice seeds. The focus will be on developing high-quality rice seeds, organic rice and specialty rice varieties.

In recent years, the rice sector in the region has undergone significant transformation and achieved noteworthy results. However, upon reflection, there are still many challenges and limitations that impact the effectiveness, sustainability and competitiveness of this crucial industry. Notably, issues related to the quality of seed and the overall quality of commercial rice remain critical concerns.

Mr. Pham Viet Tich, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Nam, stated that to address the aforementioned challenges and limitations, it is essential to not only rely on the efforts of local authorities and farmers but also to increase the involvement of businesses. This is particularly true for companies with strong potential and extensive experience in production and trade in this sector, such as Vinaseed.

As a result, the inauguration of the Vinaseed Quang Nam seed processing and preservation factory, which stands as the largest and most advanced facility in the Central and Central Highlands regions, carries immense significance for both the province and the surrounding area. This state-of-the-art factory will play a crucial role in developing large-scale specialized raw material production zones, closely integrated with seed processing and preservation operations. It will also facilitate the production and marketing of high-quality branded rice, aimed at satisfying domestic demand while paving the way for future exports from the Central and Central Highlands regions.

“This development is also a significant source of joy for the people of the heroic land of Quang Nam, as it represents a vital step towards transforming the agricultural practices of local farmers. By moving away from the use of low-quality rice for seeds, we can enhance the overall quality of Vietnamese rice. On behalf of the leadership of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, I would like to commend the proactive and collaborative efforts of the various sectors, local authorities and particularly Vinaseed Quang Nam. I would like to thank you and encourage Vinaseed Group to continue collaborating with the provincial departments and relevant sectors to research and invest in even larger projects for the province's agricultural sector in the future”, Mr. Tich stated.

Mrs. Tran Kim Lien, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vinaseed Group, requested that the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Nam Province and the leadership of Dai Loc District allow Vinaseed to participate in the process of restructuring agricultural production alongside the province. Vinaseed aims to establish Quang Nam as a technology hub for agriculture, particularly in hybrid seed production, to supply both domestic markets and for export.
