According to the Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the Taiwan Customs Office reported that vegetable imports into Taiwan reached 45.180 tons, worth USD45.1 million, up 37.1% in volume and 37.7% in value in the first two months of 2021, up over the same period in 2020.
Vietnamese vegetables imported into Taiwan increased strongly in the first two months of the year, reaching 7.29 thousand tons, worth USD5.5 million, up 296.4% in volume and 197.8% in value compared to the same period of 2020.
With the above figure, Vietnamese vegetables account for 16.1% of the total imported vegetables of Taiwan. The country is also the largest vegetable supplier to Taiwan in the first two months of this year.
Vegetables imported into Taiwan from some other markets also increased strongly in the first two months of 2021 such as Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
