After 8 times of organization, it has left many good impressions in the hearts of people, domestic and international tourists; truly becoming a festival to honor coffee growers, producers, processors, traders, and importers and exporters.

Through many activities of the festival, Dak Lak province wishes to introduce to domestic and international friends the majestic natural landscape of the great forest; the revolutionary tradition of solidarity, bravery, resilience, and indomitability; the diverse, rich, and unique cultural quintessence of ethnic minorities; the potential for tourism, trade, investment, import-export, and service development; promoting agricultural product brands; continuing to bring the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand far and wide; contributing to raising the position of Vietnamese coffee in the international arena and promoting sustainable socio-economic development of the locality.

"During the festival, delegates and visitors will have interesting experiences, immersing themselves in the aroma of the coffee, sunshine, wind, and unique cultural festivals, blending with the sound of gongs in the most beautiful moment of March in the Central Highlands," Huynh Thi Chien Hoa expressed.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival with the theme "Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of World Coffee" is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory Day, liberating Dak Lak province (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025). This is also an important event, contributing to promoting the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand, building the image of Buon Ma Thuot city as the "Coffee City of the World," contributing to enhancing the position of the Vietnamese coffee industry in the international arena and promoting the socio-economic development and tourism of Dak Lak province.

Coming to Vietnam in 1857, the coffee tree took root in the red basalt soil and became a unique cultural feature of the land and people of the Central Highlands, a symbol of exchange and connection between Vietnam and the world. It can be said that Vietnamese coffee, the story of a cup of Vietnamese coffee, has inspired peace, cooperation, and creativity.

However, according to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the Vietnamese coffee industry is still facing many significant challenges, such as uneven quality, low rate of deep processing, products are not diversified and suitable to tastes, increasing competitive pressure and market standards, typically the EU's anti-deforestation regulations; declining productivity due to climate change... "First of all, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, together with localities, enterprises, and associations, will continue to review planning and build high-quality, low-emission coffee growing areas; apply high science and technology to production and processing. It is necessary to invest in research and development of drought-resistant, pest-resistant coffee varieties, and at the same time apply smart farming technology to minimize environmental impacts," the Deputy Prime Minister directed.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha expects the Party Committee, government, and people of Dak Lak province to continue to unite and make efforts to build Buon Ma Thuot City as the "Coffee City of the World" following the spirit of Conclusion No.67-KL/TW dated December 16, 2019 of the Politburo; also, continue to be determined to successfully carry out the tasks set by the Central Committee, create new momentum, new opportunities, and contribute to the whole country entering a new era, an era of national growth.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, there will be an art program and fireworks display to celebrate the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory Day and the liberation of Dak Lak province.
