On October 31, in the capital city of Doha, Qatar, leaders from T&T Group and the International Investment and Consulting Group JTA (Qatar) met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to present their plans for researching the investment in a multi-purpose sports complex that meets international standards, as well as a themed park and an amusement park modeled after Disneyland, to be located in Dong Anh, Hanoi.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his support for the investment initiative, highlighting the fact that Hanoi, which has a population of around 10 million people, currently lacks a sports complex that is both iconic and representative of the city. He noted that the establishment of this complex would be a significant addition, serving the needs of the capital’s residents. However, he also stressed the importance of ensuring efficient operations and providing complementary services to maintain the long-term viability of the project.
In a ceremonial moment witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, T&T Group and JTA Group officially signed a memorandum of cooperation, which outlines their commitment to researching and developing the proposed international-standard multi-purpose sports complex and themed amusement park.
The project covers a total area of 330 hectares, with an estimated total investment of approximately 4.5 billion USD. It will consist of two primary components: a sports complex and a themed park. The sports complex is planned to meet Olympic standards, with an expected investment of around 1.3 billion USD. This complex will feature state-of-the-art sports facilities, prominently including a modern stadium designed to be of the high international standards.
In addition, the project will also focus on developing a themed park and amusement area, with a projected investment of about 3.2 billion USD. This section will include various themed parks and entertainment zones that take inspiration from the famous Disneyland model, aiming to create the largest Disneyland in Vietnam. This project is envisioned to be a leading entertainment destination, catering to both local residents and visitors from neighboring regions.
As the signed agreement, JTA will assume the primary responsibility for securing the financial resources and funding necessary for the project's implementation.
T&T Group will work closely with JTA to to select consultants and research concepts, as well as oversee planning, design, operational management, and to ensure that all legal requirements are fulfilled in accordance with Vietnamese laws and international standards.
Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of T&T Group, emphasized that the primary goal of the partnership between T&T Group and JTA is to research, design, and develop a modern, international-standard sports and entertainment complex. This initiative will draw inspiration from successful models implemented globally. The complex will integrate advanced technologies, including environmentally friendly solutions, ensuring it meets the necessary standards for hosting Olympic-level sporting events. This endeavor aims to enhance the international stature of Vietnam and its people, showcasing their potential on a broader stage.
"This project will not only advance the sports sector and elevate the cultural and social standards of the community but will also open up significant economic opportunities for tourism in Hanoi specifically and Vietnam as a whole. Furthermore, it will establish a robust foundation for cooperation between Vietnam and Qatar in the areas of sports and infrastructure, thereby positively contributing to the friendly relations between our two nations", Mr. Do Vinh Quang said.
