According to the Tra Vinh Forest Protection Department, similar to other forest-planting and educational tours in the province, this time 77 international students will spend nearly a day learning about the country and local people.
First, the students will be introduced to the various plant species in the natural or planted forest areas. The group of students from Manglub Vietnam Social Co., Ltd., will visit the company’s planted forest. Then, under the guidance of the Forest Protection Department staff, the students will directly participate in tree planting.
Next, the students will engage in waste collection activities in the forest planting area. Additionally, the program provides an opportunity for them to interact, learn about local customs and traditions, and enjoy rustic local dishes under the forest canopy.
On September 27, Mr. Nguyen Vu Phuong, Head of the Tra Vinh Forest Protection Department, announced that in October, through Manglub Vietnam Social Co., Ltd., the province will welcome 77 students from countries including the United States, South Korea, France, Malaysia, Taiwan (China), New Zealand, Japan, Bangladesh, Germany, India, Poland, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Tunisia, China, Russia, and Turkey for a forest planting and educational experience in Cau Ngang District.
"This is a meaningful and memorable experiential activity, providing an opportunity for the students to interact with typical mangrove species of Tra Vinh Province while helping to spread awareness about the importance of forest protection and development," Mr Phuong said.
Since 2021, the Tra Vinh Forest Protection Department has collaborated with stakeholders to organize 23 educational tours and forest planting experiences, attracting 933 participants, including students, locals from within and outside the province, as well as international visitors. A total of 933 trees have been planted over an area of approximately 4 ha, with a survival rate exceeding 85%.
