Accordingly, the Steering Committee for Quality, Food Safety and Market Development (referred to as the Steering Committee) was established based on merging the Steering Committee for Quality and Food Safety of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the agricultural sector and the Steering Committee for agricultural market development.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan is the Head of the Committee. The Deputy Head of the Committee is Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development - Tran Thanh Nam.
Steering Committee members include: Director of International Cooperation Department; Director of Planning Department; Director of Finance Department; Director of the Legal Department; Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment; Chief of the office; Director of the Department of Director of the Legal Department; Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment; Chief of the office; Director of the Department of Livestock Production; Director of the Department of Crop Production; Director of the Department of Animal Health; Director of the Plant Protection Department; Director of the Department of Fisheries; Director of the Forestry Department; Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development; Chief of the Central New Rural Coordination Office; Director of the National Agro-Forestry-Fishery Quality Assurance Department, Secretary of the Steering Committee; Director of the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agricultural and Rural Development; Director of the Center for Digital Transformation and Agricultural Statistics; Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center; Director of the Center for Agricultural Trade Promotion; and Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Agriculture News.
At the same time, invite representatives of ministries, branches, organizations and associations to participate as members of the Steering Committee. The task of the Steering Committee is to research and propose to the Minister guidelines, orientations, and policy mechanisms in the field of quality assurance, and food safety of Agro-Forestry-Fishery market development. This is to effectively implement the Strategy for Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2050;
Help the Minister direct and coordinate activities between agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at the central, and local levels and relevant agencies and organizations in handling interdisciplinary issues that arise in quality assurance, food safety and agricultural, forestry and fishery market development;
Summarize, inspect, evaluate implementation results and direct the timely handling of difficulties and obstacles in the process of organizing and implementing tasks on food quality, safety and market development for agricultural, forestry and fishery products of agencies and units under the Ministry and localities;
Performing other tasks assigned by the Minister.
