The shrimp seed farming area located in Quang Ninh province has contributed to shortening transportation time from the hatchery to farming areas of famers and ensuring the best health of shrimp seeds for stocking.
Confidence in the deployment of large – scale seed farming areas across the country is inherited from achievements in farming technologies that have been successfully applied for over 19 years such as: Algae technology, artemia, water filtration system, laboratories with international standards...
Especially, Viet – Uc Group is the first and only entity in Vietnam to be active in sources for white-leg shrimp broodstock.
Thanks to the application of modern methods of quantitative genetics, molecular genetics…, currently the Group has selected to create G9 white-leg shrimp broodstock with an average growth rate of 60% higher than G0. This is a key factor for the production of high-quality source of shrimp seeds, not only in terms of high resistance but also good adaption to soil and climate conditions of each locality.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said: The achievements and contributions to Vietnamese shrimp industry of Viet – Uc Group are of great importance, especially in terms of shrimp seeds. The shrimp seed farming area in Quang Ninh province will contribute to bringing the shrimp industry in the locality in particular and the Northern region in general to a new height.
The project implementation area located in Tan Lap commune, Dam Ha district, Quang Ninh province has an area of about 169.5 ha with a total estimated investment of VND 829 billion.
The operation of high-quality shrimp production complex not only addresses the demand for production and quality of postlarvae for Northern region with an estimated capacity of about 8 billion postlarvae per year, but also operates the super-intensive and high-tech shrimp farming area in greenhouses.
The farming area manifests breeding processes with an aim to attracting and spreading high technologies in shrimp and aquaculture industries, at the same time providing jobs for more than 1,000 employees in the locality. This is the aspiration of “Improving level of Vietnamese shrimp” that the Group always nurtures and implement towards the development, professionalism, modernity and sustainability of the national shrimp industry.
