According to statistics, Quang Ninh province has an area of land planned for forestry development by 2030 of 390,000 ha; including 47,500 ha of forests and special-use forest land, over 104,000 ha of forests and protective forestland, about 239,000 ha of forests and production forest land. The forest coverage rate reached 55%, ranking 14th/63 provinces and cities.

Currently, forests play an increasingly important role in Quang Ninh's strategy of socio-economic restructuring from "brown" to "green". At the same time, there is a harmonious balance between industrial development, mining and environmental protection.

In recent years, forest owners have recognized the role and value of sustainable forestry development and issued sustainable forest management certificates for the export forest product processing industry. Developing a sustainable forest management plan for forest owners means organizing and granting certificates of sustainable forest management in Quang Ninh province. This has been deployed, seriously implemented and achieved clear results.

Director of Quang Ninh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Minh Son affirmed that promoting sustainable forest management, Forest certification and commodity production regulations that do not cause deforestation (EUDR) in the province are receiving special attention from organizations.

Currently, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh has evaluated the results of implementing sustainable forest management certificates in the area, assessed the potential forest area and need for forest certification in the province; and identified tasks and solutions to promote implementation in the coming time. At the same time, advise and propose the Provincial People's Committee to direct localities to strictly implement the development and implementation of forest management and protection plans. In addition, coordinate with district-level People's Committees to promote propaganda and mobilization of forest owners to build and implement sustainable forest management plans.
