According to information from the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board, 22 new caves and 3 additional caves with a total length of 2,550m were recorded after a survey in March 2024. The caves surveyed have a length of about 30-572m, with an altitude of 46-550m.
Among them, there are 4 longest caves including: Vuc Hung cave (430m) in Thuong Trach commune, Ong Dau cave (572m) in Lam Hoa commune and Va cave (516m), 12/2 Dty cave (404m) in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
The discovery of this new cave is a valuable resource in tourism development as well as clarifying the geological and geomorphological value in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park area.
Currently, the above caves are still in the process of being approached and located. In-depth research is also needed to make correct judgments in preserving and sustainably exploiting natural landscapes.
