Fertilizer exports increased sharply in the first eight months of the year.
According to the Industry and Trade Information Centre, fertilizer exports in the first eight months of 2021 has experienced a sharp increase in volume, value and price compared to the same period last year, respectively 19.2%, 46.7% and 23%, reaching 830,437 tons, equivalent to nearly USD 295.91 million, and the selling price is maintained at USD 356.3/ton on average.
The Mozambique market is right behind the main market Cambodia. Exportation into this market has increased 482.3% in volume, 545% in turnover, and 10.8% in price over the same period in 2020, reaching 38,759 tons, worth USD 18.21 million, having an average price of USD 470/ton; accounting for 4.7% of Vietnam’s total volume and 6.2% of the total fertilizer export turnover.
The Laos market also shows many positive signs as Vietnam’s fertilizer exports to this market in the first eight months of 2021 reached 39,361 tons, valued at over USD 15.7 million with an average price of USD 398.8/ton, up 34.8% in volume, 38.2% in turnover and 2.5% in price in comparison to the same period in 2020, accounting for 5% of the total fertilizer export volume and turnover.
Fertilizer exports in the first 8 months of 2021 to major markets overall increased in respect to volume, value and price compared to the same period in the previous year, which is a great news to Vietnam’s fertilizer industry.
