(VAN) In response to Hanoi's need for agricultural goods, several provinces and cities indicated their commitment to supply the capital during the 8th session of The 970 Agricultural Connection Forum.

The event, themed "Sharing Information and Connecting Agroforestry-Fisheries Trade Between Hanoi and Localities," takes place online on October 23, with the goal of connecting agriculture in Hanoi to 40 provinces and towns.

The Hanoi authorities said that the city's agricultural goods can only meet around 30% to 60% of demands and that it is in desperate need of agricultural trade connections with other areas.

Bac Kan was the first province to exhibit an interest in agricultural commerce with Hanoi. " In the future, to maintain agricultural product trade ties with Hanoi, Bac Kan has encouraged agricultural product consumption through electronic trading platforms and websites, therefore linking consumption to 56/63 provinces around the nation. Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have facilitated the consumption of significant amounts of vermicelli, bamboo shoots, turmeric starch, and other Bac Kan products," said Ms. Do Thi Minh Hoa, Bac Kan's authority.

As a result, Bac Kan province seeks to establish special business relationships with Hanoi in order to share information and specific needs for goods in order to increase the market.

Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang Province, said, "The market determines output." The location highlights its strengths as aquaculture, rice and fruit trees, brackish water shrimp, and high-quality ST24, ST25 rice.

Nam proposed that locals and Hanoi are connected and provide assistance in numerous ways for Soc Trang's agricultural goods. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Growth coordinates and directs efforts to strengthen regional ties in agricultural development in the Mekong Delta, from production to consumption.

In response, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam stressed the critical nature of regional links in the Mekong Delta, as Minister of MARD Le Minh Hoan has said.

MARD will sign a contract with the city of Hanoi at the event to coordinate a program aimed at "Ensuring food safety and improving the quality of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries trade between Hanoi and other provinces and cities between 2021 and 2025." This is the connection in the Northern region in terms of food safety, building requirements for agricultural regions, encouraging investment, and connecting product production and consumption...

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Provincial Tourism and Trade Investment Promotion Center, the province currently has 185 chains connected to 18,500 household farmers, a 2,500-hectare area capable of producing and processing 400,000 tons of agricultural products during the last three months of the year.

As a result, the deputy director requested that MARD provide advantageous circumstances for firms to import agricultural production inputs in order to maintain price stability.

Second, the Ministry is tasked with directing and mobilizing consumption and distribution units in order to sustain and expand the production of buying, preliminary processing, processing, and conserving agricultural goods for the benefit of the public.

Thirdly, give and support information and solutions related to logistics, transportation, and distribution of commodities and products in both local and international markets. Simultaneously, assisting enterprises, cooperatives, manufacturing, and business homes with market knowledge through online trade promotion programs, linking supply and demand on a digital platform.

Thanh Hoa province produces a large number of agricultural products and commodities, around 1.5 million tons each year. However, the province of Hanoi's commercial exchange has remained stagnant.

In the first nine months of the year, the province has 45 firms selling agricultural goods to the Hanoi market, including fish sauce, seafood, animal and poultry meat, as well as other vegetables and fruits. However, Thanh Hoa exports just 10-15 tons of agricultural goods each month to the Hanoi market, contributing to the capital's and adjacent provinces' food security.

Thanh Hoa province requested that the MARD continue to provide favorable circumstances for Thanh Hoa firms, introduce them to enterprises in the capital, and encourage commerce.

Additionally, neighboring provinces such as Quang Ninh, Kien Giang... have declared their determination to provide the capital city with prime local agricultural goods.
