Van Tien Cave is located in Cat Village, Huong Son commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province. The cave has been known to local people for a long time but has not been fully explored and has not been exploited for tourism.

In 2020, a local person searching for bat guano accidentally found this cave.

The cave is located at the end of Tria village; walk along the stream for about 30 minutes. Visitors climb the jagged cliffs from the stream bank in the middle of the jungle for another 20 minutes to reach the cave entrance.

Tria Village is the most remote within the commune, with its access road currently out of order due to flooding last October. The area is inhabited by the ethnic Bru minority, which exists in farming and breeding cattle.

The cave entrance is small; only one person can fit through, steep, slippery, and wet. Right at the cave entrance, there are a lot of bat droppings.

In return, down about 20m, visitors immediately encounter a large stalactite falling from the cave ceiling. The light gradually weakened, the cave became dark, and the air cooled.

Down to the last point is an excellent underground stream running through the cave. Follow the stream for a few hundred meters; the beginning and end of the stream are two large lakes.

These two lakes have ample space and many magnificent stalactites. The lake is clear, with fish and shrimp living below.

Mr. Ho Van Kham, a resident, said he had gone down to the cave many times but needed help finding the source and exit of the underground water. Mr. Kham guessed that the water in the cave escaped underground to the stream outside.

The road to Tria village has collapsed in many places after historic floods in October 2020. Therefore, accessing the cave for tourism development is complex when traffic is still tricky.
