Many large enterprises choose Dak Lak to invest in

(VAN) Possessing advantages in climate, land, and preferential policies, Dak Lak province has been attracting many large enterprises to invest in agriculture with a capital of trillions of VND.

Enterprises investing in agriculture are the locomotives leading, supporting, and reorganizing production along the value chain, ensuring effective and sustainable development. Vietnam Agriculture News had an opportunity to interview Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duong, Director of Dak Lak Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and gain some insight about the results of attracting agricultural investment.

Dear sir, could you tell us about the situation of enterprises investing in Dak Lak's agricultural sector recently?

With the advantage of climate and land, in recent years, Dak Lak province has built many large and high-quality agricultural production areas, meeting export processes. The local authorities have issued many preferential policies, so Dak Lak has been able to attract many businesses to invest in the agricultural sector.

Currently, in the province, there are over 1,450 establishments that are eligible to do pesticide business, and 1,650 establishments qualify for fertilizer business. Among them, there are 43 enterprises distributing pesticides and 102 enterprises distributing fertilizers.

Regarding animal husbandry, Dak Lak currently has eight livestock companies deploying joint production of pigs and chickens with approximately 400 farms with a scale of 200,000 pigs and 3 million chickens.

Regarding forestry, in the province, there are 64 projects leased land to invest in agricultural and forestry development on forestry land with a leased land area of more than 43,300 ha.

Regarding fisheries, the province currently has 4 enterprises, 14 cooperatives, 4 cooperative groups, 2 farms, and 7 fisheries associations engaged in aquatic production.

Especially regarding processing, the province currently has about 500 establishments. Of which there are 220 establishments processing coffee powder, roasted and instant coffee; 280 establishments processing macadamia, cocoa, cashew, rice, preliminarily processing fresh fruit, dried fruit, frozen fruit...

These businesses have created incomes and jobs for local workers, contributed to social stability, and improved people's life.

As you mentioned, many large enterprises have invested in agriculture in Dak Lak. Could you please tell us which areas they invest in?

Currently, in Dak Lak, many enterprises are investing in agriculture. Some large enterprises, such as Xuan Thien Group, are investing in the Xuan Thien Hi-tech Agricultural Park project. Thien Cu M'gar with a total area of 107.6 hectares in Ea Kpam commune, Cu M'gar district, and total investment capital of VND 3,500 billion.

Chanh Thu Fruit Import Export Group Joint Stock Company is building a project of Chanh Thu fruit export processing factory in Dak Lak with a capacity of 70,000 tons of raw materials/per year, with total investment capital of more than VND 467 billion.

DHN Dak Lak Hi-tech Agriculture Development Joint Stock Company invests in a breeding pig production project with the scale of 2,000 breeding sows in Ea M'Droh commune, Cu M'gar district.

Banana Brothers Farm Company has planted nearly 150ha of old South American banana varieties in the direction of high technology in village 1, Ea Rieng commune, M'Drak district, Dak Lak province.

Vietnam Sturgeon One Member Company Limited annually raises an average of 385 cages, with 52,000 fish.

In 2022, Dak Lak's agriculture sector actively advised the provincial People's Committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to successfully organize a conference to promote investment in agriculture.

Many businesses have come to Dak Lak to invest in agriculture. What are the results of the policy inviting companies to invest in this field, sir?

Many businesses have recently come to Dak Lak to invest in agriculture to get that investment interest. In addition to favorable natural conditions for agricultural development, Dak Lak province Has many supportive policies to attract investment.

The province has a transparent and clear legal system to attract investment enterprises; Enterprises enjoy many preferential policies on land, tax, and credit; Agriculture is one of the three critical industries of the province, so it receives the attention and support of the whole political system, forming a particularly favorable investment environment.

Along with that, the infrastructure structure has been synchronously invested, especially the transport and irrigation infrastructure, which is very convenient for production and trade activities and the political security situation of the province. The guarantee creates conditions for enterprises to feel secure in investment, production, and business.

Sir, what benefits have businesses looking to Dak Lak for investment brought to the agricultural industry?

Businesses looking to Dak Lak to invest have brought many important benefits to agriculture in particular and the province's socio-economic development in general. The province has built 113 chain links approved by the Provincial People's Committee, District People's Committee, and Commune People's Committee.

Additionally, businesses investing in Dak Lak have brought a significant source of budget revenue from companies' tax payments. The province has been granted 63 planting area codes with a total area of nearly 2,855 hectares. This is one of the factors to form concentrated and large-scale production areas.

The application of scientific advances to agricultural production has been widely deployed. Advanced irrigation technology has been applied in cultivation, saving water, and growing greenhouses. In livestock production, some units have applied chips according to animal health, using cooling systems and automatic feeders.

In aquaculture, science and technology have been applied to breed new varieties using the egg ultrasound method in sturgeon farming. In forestry, telemetry images are involved in monitoring forest changes. The business has also created jobs for local people, especially local ethnic minorities, thereby contributing to creating income and stabilizing the lives of local people.
