The DHN hi-tech agricultural complex projects can help make the Central Highlands become a hub for supplying piglets and developing hi-tech breeding models of Vietnam and Asia.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 20, 2022, chaired a conference on the implementation of the Government’s action plan materialising the Politburo’s Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated October 6, 2022, on orientations for socio-economic development, national defense, and security in the Central Highlands by 2030 with a vision towards 2045.
The conference themed "Green - Harmonious - Sustainable Development" was organised in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong.

At the conference, delegates including leaders of ministries, branches, localities, experts, scientists, investors, and domestic and foreign enterprises shared opinions.
One of the topics that got much attention was the restructuring of the agricultural sector in the Central Highlands in the direction of shifting from agricultural production to an agricultural economy that is highly efficient, circular, ecological, and organic. Participants at the conference paid much attention to the strategy of large-scale agricultural development in the Central Highlands which featured specialised farming areas, concentrated commodity production areas, and building linkages in the production, processing and consumption of key agricultural products.
Agricultural projects using high technology in the Central Highlands provinces recently are said to be completely consistent with the spirit of Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the Politburo. For example, the chain of DNH high-tech agricultural complex.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates visited the exhibition that introduces products of the Central Highlands provinces.
This is a joint venture model between De Heus - the world's leading agricultural corporation from the Netherlands and Hung Nhon Group - a pioneer in Vietnam's hi-tech agriculture field.
Vu Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors, cum General Director of Hung Nhon Group said that the strength of the chain of DHN projects is the application of internationally-standardised high technology of the Netherlands; using a grid-connected solar power system, and using 30 per cent of clean electricity that helps reduce a large amount of CO2 emission.
In addition, the model also applied environmentally friendly and energy-saving measures in animal husbandry and organic farming that meet the standards and technical regulations of Vietnam and specialised international organizations, Hung said.
According to Hung, with a methodical investment strategy and a committed schedule, the Dak Lak DHN Hi-tech Agricultural Complex has been approved to expand by the Provincial People's Committee.
DHN Dak Lak projects with a total investment of more than VND1.5 trillion have been in operation since 2021.

Immediately after being put into operation, the project received a plane carrying 1,250 breeding pigs directly imported from Topigs Norsvin (Canada). It is expected that the pigs will supply 25,000 broodstock to the market each year.
Hung expects that the expansion of the project in Dak Lak would pave the way for the decision to expand the project in the remaining localities in the Central Highlands soon.
Recently, at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Gia Lai Hi-tech Agricultural Complex project, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien highly appreciated the importance of DHN in agricultural development strategy in the Central Highlands.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien spoke at the conference.
Tien said that he expected that with the technology and strong financial potential of the De Heus Group, along with the agricultural development experience of Hung Nhon, the DHN project chain, once completed, will contribute to making the Central Highlands a to become the leading livestock centre in the region.
Sharing about the investment decision in Vietnam, Gabor Fluit, General Director of De Heus Asia, said that Vietnam was a country with great potential in agriculture, but the application of high technology in production still had limitations.
“After a period of research, we found that Hung Nhon is an experienced and quite active enterprise in investment activities in the agricultural field. This is the reason why De Heus chose Hung Nhon as a partner in the strategy of developing high-tech agriculture in Vietnam,” he said.
According to Gabor Fluit, after more than ten years of cooperation, De Heus and Hung Nhon have affirmed their position in leading high-tech agricultural production in Vietnam, by building a system of linkage chains that produce clean, high-value products.
“With the Central Highlands region, our goal is to invest in a series of high-tech agricultural complex projects, to turn the Central Highlands into a disease-free area, to produce high-quality agricultural products in a closed chain. Further, it is shaping the Central Highlands to become a centre for providing breeding pigs and developing high-tech breeding models of Vietnam and Asia," said Gabor Fluit confidently.
Thus, after Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Lam Dong, in the plan from now to 2030, the joint venture will expand the chain of high-tech agricultural complex DHN to the remaining two provinces of the region, Kon Tum, and Dak Nong.
According to the cooperation agreement between De Heus and Hung Nhon, DHN's goal by 2030 is to reach a capacity of 10,000 breeding pigs yearly, a herd of 20,000 sows, and about 6 million pigs.
