(VAN) August 8, 2021, live pork, shrimp, snakehead, and pangasius prices all are stable compared to the day before.

Live pork prices

Live pork prices today, August 8, in the Northern market, move sideways in most provinces compared to yesterday. In comparison with last weekend, live pork prices have decreased by VND 1,000-3,000 per kilogram.

Specifically, the live pork price is the North’s lowest of VND 51,000 in Tuyen Quang province.

In Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Binh and Thai Binh provinces, the live pork price keep the highest at VND 54,000 per kilogram.

In North Central Coast and Central Highlands, live pork prices today increase compared to yesterday, in the range of VND 52,000-55,000 per kilogram.

The live pork price is VND 54,000 per kilogram in Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh and Binh Dinh provinces, after an increase of VND 1,000 per kilogram.

The remaining provinces keep the prices in the range of VND 52,000-54,000 per kilogram.

In the South, live pork prices today are also unchanged in some provinces compared to yesterday, in the range of VND 50,000-54,000 per kilogram.

After a VND 1,000 increase compared to last weekend, live pork prices are VND 53,000 and VND 54,000 in Dong Nai and Hau Giang provinces, respectively

The lowest price is still recognized in Ca Mau, Dong Thap and Bac Lieu provinces, at VND 50,000-51,000 per kilogram, a VND 3,000 decrease compared to last weekend.

White shrimp prices

In Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces, white shrimp prices today, August 8, are stable compared to yesterday, in the range of VND 86,500-212,000, depending on types.

Specifically, the white shrimp price is VND 192,000-212,000 per kilogram for the size of 20 pieces.

For the size of 25 pieces, the white shrimp is VND 145,000-155,000 per kilogram.

For the size of 30 pieces, the white shrimp is VND 130,000-134,000 per kilogram.

In the past three months, the price of pangasius and breeds has decreased by 30-50% in the Mekong Delta due to the export market facing many difficulties. According to the Vietnam Pangasius Association, in the first two months of the year, pangasius prices were at high about VND 30,000-31,000 per kilogram, but now only VND 20,500-22,500.

In Dong Thap, An Giang, Can Tho and Hau Giang provinces, pangasius prices today, August 8, are VND 21,000-22,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Prices for pangasius breeds with the size of 30-35 pieces are VND 19,500-20,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

According to VASEP, the price of frozen pangasius in the US market has increased by 35% compared to the beginning of the year.

Vietnam is the main source of pangasius for the US, accounting for nearly 90% of the country's total pangasius imports in the first quarter of this year.

In the first 6 months of this year, pangasius exports to the US reached US$ 168.7 million, up 57.7% over the same period last year.

Snakehead prices

In Dong Thap, An Giang, and Tra Vinh provinces, snakehead prices today, August 8, are VND 44,000-45,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Prices for snakehead breeds with the size of 500-700 pieces are VND 200-300 per piece, unchanged compared to yesterday.
