After the decisions to reorganize and renovate agricultural and forestry farms, there are still many forestry companies across the country facing difficulties and problems. However, in Tuyen Quang province, good models and practices of forestry companies have appeared and working with people to develop a sustainable forest economy.

Currently in Tuyen Quang province, there are 5 forestry companies including Forestry Company Limited: Chiem Hoa, Yen Son, Tuyen Binh, Nguyen Van Troi, and Son Duong. Joint ventures and cooperation in planting production forests have linked the rights and responsibilities of companies and workers to the final product. Therefore, the productivity of planted forests is increasingly increasing, the forests found real owners, and the situation of cutting down and encroaching on planted forest land is minimized.

Mr. Tran Xuan Quang, Director of Yen Son Forestry Company Limited, said that joint ventures with people ensure sustainable forest development. Currently, the forest area in the area under the company's management is mainly occupied by ethnic minorities, whose lives are still difficult. The company always determines that the role of people is important and inseparable in forest development. To do that, the company has proposed solutions such as propaganda to raise awareness and knowledge of forest protection for people to cooperate with the company to preserve and develop forests; and deploy mechanisms to ensure transparency, openness, fairness and benefits to the people.

Forest linkage in Tuyen Quang is implemented specifically through target programs, resolutions, and policy mechanisms that are adjusted to suit each stage of development. Since 1991, Tuyen Quang province has closed natural forests (25 years before the whole country stopped exploiting natural forest timber). At the same time, the province also issued many separate policies such as supporting high-quality forestry tree varieties for people to plant production forests; supporting plant varieties and livestock for production development, creating sustainable livelihoods for people living near forests; supporting local budgets to mobilize people to join the rangers in protecting forests; effectively implement mechanisms and policies on land allocation, forest allocation, and forest protection contracts for the people...

Ms. Mai Thi Hoan, Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that to build a chain of sustainable forestry development, Tuyen Quang province has concretized policies to attract processing businesses and support forestry companies, cooperatives, and forest planting households.

In particular, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province has approved the Sustainable Forestry Development Project for the period 2021-2025, with an orientation to 2025, which focuses on implementing 5 key tasks and 10 groups of solutions to ensure development, improve economic efficiency and added value of planted forests. It also focuses on improving productivity, quality, and income value per unit of forest land area; strictly managing and protecting, reasonably and effectively promoting natural forest areas associated with tourism development; improving the lives of forest growers and protecting forests.

Tuyen Quang province strives to become a typical locality in sustainable forestry development associated with building new rural areas and developing eco-tourism by 2025.

Up to now, those strategic directions have been implemented and concretized by localities, establishments and functional sectors in the province. This is accomplished through very specific and practical tasks and solutions. This has created the most favourable and suitable environment and conditions for businesses, cooperatives and people to invest financially to carry out production and sustainable and effective forestry business; forming a stable, tight, effective and strategically oriented chain of links in forestry production and business from management, protection, development and use of forests, processing and trade of forest products.
