Lao NA Chairman Xaysomphone Phomvihane led a high-ranking delegation of the Lao NA to visit and work with Que Lam Group in Vinh Phuc Province on December 7, within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam.
The Lao NA high-ranking delegation was received by Mr. Vu Hai Ha, Chairman of the Vietnamese NA's Foreign Affairs Committee, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, Secretary of Vinh Phuc Province’s Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien, and many others officials of the NA and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
The NA Chairman and the delegation visited Que Lam Biotech microbial organic fertilizer factory-the largest fertilizer producer in the North with a capacity of 200,000 tons/year. They also visited Que Lam’s biosafety organic pig raising model which is operating under the "5 no" standard (no antibiotics, no weight gainers, no heavy metal residues, no lean ingredients and no colorants).
Reporting to the Lao NA delegation, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vinh, General Director of Que Lam Group said, in its strategic orientation towards sustainable organic agriculture to bring benefits to consumers and farmers, since its establishment, Que Lam Group has pioneered and persisted in the path of organic agriculture development for the past 20 years, with the goal of building a closed and sustainable agricultural production process from organic microbial fertilizers to organic and safe agricultural products.
Through 20 years of establishment and development, Que Lam Group has so far become a nationwide leading enterprise in the field of organic fertilizer production and trading with a system of 13 member companies including 8 fertilizer factories, 1 biotechnological research and application institute, and 1 company specializing in importing and distributing Que Lam fertilizer products in the Cambodian market.
The Group has a consumption and distribution system spanning 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam with 250 level 1 distributors, more than 2,000 level 2 and 3 agents of exports to Laos and Cambodia. The system of customers and partners of Que Lam Group includes member rubber companies of Vietnam Rubber Group, Vingroup in clean planting projects, Tea Corporation, Coffee Corporation, and Vietnam Pepper Association.
Currently, Que Lam Group is completing its 4F(Farm - Food - Feed – Fertilizer) biosafety breeding complex project which is a circular agricultural economic model built on an area of 15 hectares in Thua Thien-Hue Province with a total investment capital of VND700 billion. This is a unique and most advanced project that first appeared in Vietnam.
With its achievements and great contributions to Vietnam's agriculture in the past 20 years, Que Lam Group has been recognized by the Party and State leaders and deserved to received many awards.
Speaking at the visit and working session with Que Lam Group, Lao NA Chairman Xaysomphone Phomvihane said: "I choose to visit and work with Que Lam Group within the framework of this official visit to Vietnam because I know that Que Lam is a pioneer corporation with great efforts in converting chemical-based agriculture to green, clean, and environmentally friendly agriculture in Vietnam. This is a common trend of the world and policies of the Lao Party and State on the issue are also similar to those of the Party and the State of Vietnam".
"During this visit, we look forward to exchanging, researching, and learning more about Que Lam Group's agricultural practices. Laos and Vietnam have many similarities. Farmers make up the majority of the population and the economy is based on agriculture. Therefore, to develop agriculture and for farmers to prosper, I think it is necessary to make efforts in developing a green, clean and modern agriculture," he added.
"The great friendship between Vietnam and Laos is an invaluable common asset. We wish and earnestly invite Que Lam Group to invest in Laos so that the two sides can develop together, share and exchange lessons with each other, transfer advanced knowledge to each other to develop stronger together for the common prosperity and strength. It is an aspiration to create prosperity and strength for not only the Vietnamese but also the whole Lao people," the Lao NA Chairman emphasized.
Sharing with Lao NA Chairman Xaysomphone Phomvihane and the delegation about a year of overcoming difficulties and overfulfilling the goals of agricultural development, MARD Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien said contributing to the development of Vietnam's agriculture is a huge role of the people and businesses, including Que Lam Group.
“With organic agricultural activities in sustainable livestock and farming as well as in the production and business of micro-organic fertilizers, bio-organic and biological products, over the past 20 years since its establishment, Que Lam has become a pioneer co-operation in the development of organic agriculture, which is the right and successful direction of switching to a clean industry, optimizing input, high efficiency and sustainability, implementing the restructure of Vietnam's clean agricultural production so that to actively integrate to the world," said Deputy Minister Tien.
Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien also said that within the framework of the visit and work of the Lao NA Chairman and delegation, more cooperation activities will be promoted to support the two sides in jointly developing and co-operation in agriculture, financial and expertise training, scientific research, investment and technical exchange to improve capacity towards the signing of cooperation in the near future.
Speaking to the Lao NA guests, Mr. Nguyen Hong Lam, Chairman of the Que Lam Group’s Board of Directors expressed his gratitude for the visit of Lao NA Chairman Xaysomphone Phomvihane saying that was the honor of Que Lam Group, and the company was willing to try its best together with the Party, State and MARD of Vietnam to share with the Party, State and People of Laos, in developing circular organic agriculture.
