On the morning of April 1, Mr. Dao Xuan Thuy, Director of Chu Mom Ray National Park, Kon Tum province, said that the Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Ecotourism (under Chu Mom Ray National Park) received a long-tailed macaque for care and conservation. The individual weighed 2kg, was male, and had its right arm amputated. According to Mr. Dao Xuan Thuy, the long-tailed macaque belongs to group IIB, an endangered and rare group.

The long-tailed macaque was voluntarily handed over by local people to the Kon Tum City Forest Protection Department. After that, this unit completed the procedures to transfer it to Chu Mom Ray National Park for care, in order to preserve the rare animal's gene source.
