Introducing Vietnamese tea culture internationally at FD 2024

The program is directed by the People\'s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, with the support of the Slippers tea brand. This is the first time Ho Chi Minh City has presented an artistic tea invitation program to international friends, showcasing Vietnamese tea culture through three sections: The Myth of Vietnamese Tea - The Five Manners of Vietnamese Tea - The Soul of Vietnamese Tea.
At the 5th Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Dialogue program, tea not only served as a medium of connection but also reached a new height by participating in promoting economic and international diplomacy.
Vietnam has a tea culture closely intertwined with rice agriculture for over 5,000 years. Initially, the tea plant was regarded as a herb with medicinal and detoxifying properties; over time, tea became a regular beverage for the Vietnamese people.
Vietnamese tea culture, "Viet tea manners", encapsulates the ethnic identity characterized by the diverse forms and profound mindfulness in interpersonal relations among the Vietnamese. The variety of styles in the Vietnamese tea-drinking experience is manifested through the five forms of Vietnamese tea.
The simplicity of manners is the common way of drinking tea among Vietnamese people that does not place too much emphasis on the intricacies of tea enjoyment.
Knowledgeable manners are the more intricate way of enjoying tea. This style requires the tea drinker to have a certain level of knowledge about tea, from the drinking method to the type of tea being consumed.
Royalty manners is the royal style of tea enjoyment, reserved for kings and members of the royal family in the past.
Tranquillity manners is a style of tea enjoyment that emphasizes tranquillity and deep contemplation.
Literature manners is the enjoyment of tea combined with reading books and appreciating art, enriching the intellect and spirit of the Vietnamese people.
The artistic program "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Tea Culture - Vietnamese Tea Disciplines" recreates historical stories associated with the development of Vietnam\'s tea heritage. Through this, it reflects the purity and intellect of the Vietnamese people. In an atmosphere of music and friendship, artisans brew delicious tea from the high-quality tea products of the Slippers brand, inviting esteemed guests to partake.
Warm, fragrant cups of tea are offered to international guests, embodying the hospitality of the Vietnamese people.
With this program, tea officially becomes the medium of transmission and connection between Vietnam and international friends at a large-scale diplomatic event.
The Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Dialogue 2024 took place in Ho Chi Minh City from September 23 to 24, with the participation of over 35 international delegations from countries such as the United States, Russia, Japan, Belarus, China, South Korea, Cuba, Germany, Hungary, Portugal, Uruguay, Australia, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Japan, as well as domestic and international associations, businesses, and organizations.
Through this, Vietnamese tea culture is not only celebrated but also conveys the age-old dream of the nation for a peaceful world, where cultural identities are spread and embraced in friendship.
