According to the results of the investigation and assessment of wild animals and plants with rare genetic resources in Huong Son special-use forest in the period of 2022-2023, there are 4 primate species, including 5 individuals of Delacour's langur - an endemic species, only naturally distributed in Vietnam. They are also on the list of critically endangered species of the International Organization for Conservation of Nature.

In Huong Son's special-use forest, there are still many difficulties in biodiversity conservation in general and Delacour's langur conservation in particular. Including over 500 households living and cultivating; the impact of millions of tourists each year visiting Huong Temple leaves behind a huge amount of waste that is difficult to handle.

Faced with the extremely endangered situation of the Delacour's langur in Huong Son special-use forest today, a large-scale investigation is urgently needed to assess in detail the herd's development situation as well as threats. From there, proposed combined conservation measures between 3 bordering provinces and cities including Hanoi - Ha Nam - Hoa Binh. It is also necessary to develop a detailed plan for planning, and conservation and establish specialized protection teams for this rare animal species.
