According to the report on the socio-economic situation in the first quarter of 2024 of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province, the forestry sector achieved good results. Cumulatively to date, the whole province has planted nearly 1.1 million scattered trees (1.3 times more than the same period) and more than 1,300 ha of concentrated forests (an increase of nearly 180 ha over the same period), reaching about 16% of the plan. At the same time, the whole province exploited 125 thousand m3 of wood of all kinds, reaching more than 12% of the plan.

Units and localities that planted many scattered trees include: Son Dong District planted nearly 400,000 trees, Yen The District planted more than 160,000 trees, Yen Dung District planted about 150,000 trees, Luc Nam District planted nearly 100,000 trees, Tan Yen District planted more than 60,000 trees, the Provincial Youth Union planted more than 45,000 trees.

The entire province has prepared nearly 23 million seedlings of all kinds to serve the needs of afforestation and scattered tree planting in 2024. Of which, about 12.5 million seedlings are qualified for export.

These activities are expected to help increase forest coverage throughout the province. The forest coverage rate of the entire province in 2023 is 37.8%.

After announcing the current status, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province requested the People's Committees at all levels (districts and communes) to carry out state management responsibilities for forest protection and development according to Article 102 of the Forestry Law. Using forest status data to review and adjust annual forest protection and development planning and plans as the basis for updating forest developments in the following year.

The results of the agriculture and forestry industry contribute to helping Bac Giang maintain its development momentum. The production value of the entire industry increased by 2.14%.
