The Ho Chi Minh City International Exhibition on Food and Food Industry 2024 (HCMC FOODEX 2024), organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Food Association and various departments, will take place from May 15th to 18th at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).
Mr. Tran Phu Lu, Director of ITPC, stated that HCMC FOODEX 2024 is expected to attract the participation of nearly 400 enterprises, organizations, associations, distributors, modern supermarkets, and e-commerce channels both domestically and internationally. Particularly, there will be a significant presence of international buyers.
Participating enterprises will exhibit and introduce products including raw/processed agricultural products (vegetables, aquatic products, spices, etc.); processed food products; beverages; industrial ingredients for food processing; machinery and equipment for production, packaging, and preservation; natural, green, sustainable products, and related industries.
With approximately 500 booths displayed at HCMC FOODEX 2024, the event will contribute to showcasing the dynamic development of the Ho Chi Minh City food processing industry and promoting quality products and reputable enterprises in the food industry. It aims to foster business cooperation opportunities and attract effective investment resources.
Furthermore, within the framework of the exhibition, there will be activities to help businesses stay updated on the latest trends in production, consumption, and potential export markets, and to support them in finding partners and expanding distribution and consumption networks.
A highlight of the program is the cooking contest themed "Vietnamese Soul in Contemporary Cuisine," organized by the HCMC FOODEX 2024 organizing committee in collaboration with the Saigon Professional Chefs' Association. Teams will be required to use Vietnamese agricultural products to prepare contemporary dishes.
The program aims to combine promotion and connect the consumption of Vietnamese agricultural products through culture and cuisine, creating an effective and impressive direction for visitors, especially international buyers.
"HCMC FOODEX 2024 is not only expected to be a bridge for domestic and international enterprises to cooperate but also a forum for businesses to exchange and share advanced technologies in food processing, aiming to enhance quality, add value, and promote sustainable development," said Mr Tran Phu Lu, Director of ITPC.
