On April 25, in Thap Muoi district, Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee held a press conference to prepare for the second Dong Thap Lotus Festival in 2024, with the theme "Radiant in lotus color" to honor the lotus and promote cultural - economic value, promoting the development of the lotus industry associated with tourism development and creating local image.
The lotus festival will take place from May 16-19, at the Temple of Literature park (Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Ward 1, Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap Province).
This is a provincial-level event with more than 30 activities taking place, considered the largest ever in festivals. Highlights include: International seminar on lotus, seminar on improving the value chain of the lotus industry in Dong Thap province, announcement of the first lotus lotus exported to Japan, international lotus display space, and the river lotus, culinary contest of dishes made from lotus, lotus food street, antique car parade, lotus Carnival and art program "Youth Melody of Pink Lotus Land", lotus fashion contest, exhibition of Southern art, paintings and ceramics with lotus theme in Dong Thap, Trekking in the middle of lotus season - Tram Chim, Lotus experience tour, creative space, lotus theme experience and lotus mural activities...

Besides, the large landscapes and miniature landscapes of the festival will turn into unique spaces about lotus, along with attractive activities such as: Making the largest lotus map in Vietnam, lotus ao dai parade, with the participation of 5,500 Dong Thap women. The lotus space with 66,000 lotus pots, with more than 57 lotus varieties that are beautifully arranged will create an interesting experience space for residents and visitors.
In addition, the 2024 Mekong Delta - Dong Thap Industry and Trade Fair gathers 250 booths, including the lotus industry chain display space, introducing about 60 OCOP products from lotus and over 120 products processed from lotus is also a satisfying shopping place for residents and tourists during the festival.
Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, the Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, said: Dong Thap has long been proud to be the land of lotus flowers and is known to people nationwide through two famous verses: "The most beautiful Thap Muoi created by lotus/The most beautiful Vietnam is created by Uncle Ho." This is a good land, blessed by nature, with people who are diligent, compassionate, hard-working, dare to think, dare to do, create, love lotus and stick with lotus.

According to Mr. Tuan, the first lotus festival in 2022 was organized by the Provincial People's Committee and was a great success, attracting over 100,000 visitors and people to visit, enjoy, and experience directly at the Festival space, with a total of Estimated revenue is over VND 60 billion.
