Establishment of the Khanh Hoa Fisheries Development Support Fund

On the afternoon of August 12, in Nha Trang City, the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to launch and support the Khanh Hoa Fisheries Development Support Fund. Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, leaders of ministries and branches, the Navy, the Border Guard, and leaders of localities, corporations, and businesses.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Hoan, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, announced decisions such as: promulgating the fund's organization and operation charter; and establishing a 5-member Fund Management Council, in which Mr. Tran Hoa Nam, Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, holds the position of Chairman of the Council.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that the launch of the Khanh Hoa Fisheries Development Support Fund as a national fund established by the Government will be the official address to receive, manage, and use funding sources from organizations and individuals. Thanks to the sources, the fund will invest in fishing port infrastructure works, processing facilities, fishery logistics services, and other essential works on natural disaster prevention and control, serving people’s livelihoods in the Truong Sa district, which have not been invested in by the state budget or have not invested enough.

Promoting patriotic tradition towards the Fatherland’s borders and sea islands, the Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee respectfully called on ministries, departments, and branches; provinces and cities; corporations, agencies, units, business communities, enterprises, organizations, and individuals at home and abroad with deep feelings of gratitude and responsibility to actively participate in supporting, contributing to, and funding the Khanh Hoa Fisheries Development Support Fund.

At the launching ceremony, ministries, branches, localities, corporations, and businesses unanimously and jointly supported more than VND 26 billion (of which over VND 23 billion in cash) for the Khanh Hoa Fisheries Development Support Fund.
