On the evening of September 3 in Manila, Philippines, Vietnam's Cuc Phuong National Park was honoured in the Asia's Leading National Park 2024 category by the World Travel Awards (WTA). This marks the sixth consecutive time since 2019 that Cuc Phuong has won this prestigious title.
Cuc Phuong surpassed other contenders, including Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park (Japan), Chitwan National Park (Nepal), Minneriya National Park (Sri Lanka), Kinabalu National Park and Taman Negara (both from Malaysia), and Cat Tien National Park.

Mr Nguyen Van Chinh, Director of Cuc Phuong National Park, shared that "the award is a great encouragement and a reflection of the community's support for Cuc Phuong's efforts over more than 60 years."
Cuc Phuong focuses on forest protection and biodiversity conservation as a foundation for scientific research, environmental education, and ecotourism services to raise awareness, develop community livelihoods, and contribute to rapid, green, and sustainable economic development. The award highlights the appeal of ecotourism, a model being developed in national parks and conservation areas across Vietnam.
During the same award ceremony, Ha Giang was recognized as Asia's Leading Cultural Destination. The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Quang Nam province was named Asia's Leading Local Tourism Authority 2024; Hoi An - Quang Nam received the title of Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination for the fifth time, and Vietravel won three awards for travel and tour operations.
The World Travel Awards (WTA), established in 1993, are prestigious awards recognized globally and often referred to as the "Oscars of the tourism industry." The awards are held annually to honour outstanding destinations, tourism management agencies, and providers of quality travel services across various categories such as airlines, hotels, resorts, travel companies, and tourist destinations.
