On the global market, both the London and New York exchanges saw a strong reversal with sharp declines on October 25.
Specifically, Robusta prices on the London exchange for November 2024 delivery dropped by $ 114 (equivalent to 2.54%), reaching $ 4,368/ton. The January 2025 delivery price also fell significantly by $ 106 (equivalent to 2.39%), standing at $ 4,337/ton.
Meanwhile, on the New York exchange, Arabica for December 2024 delivery decreased sharply by 6.9 cents (equivalent to 2.73%), down to 245.45 cents/lb. The March 2025 delivery price fell by 6.6 cents (equivalent to 2.63%), settling at 244.45 cents/lb.
Today, global coffee prices sharply declined as speculators offloaded stocks for liquidation.
Additionally, coffee prices faced downward pressure from the new harvest season in Vietnam and favorable rainfall reports in Brazil, which have eased concerns over supply shortages, driving prices on both exchanges further downward.
Weather reports indicate that rain returned to most major coffee-growing regions in Brazil last week, with cooler temperatures providing ideal conditions for coffee plants to recover and grow following an extended record dry spell.
Nonetheless, farmers and analysts still anticipate Brazil’s coffee harvest in 2025 will decrease compared to this year, as delayed rainfall has hindered the season’s full recovery.
Thus, global coffee prices on 10/25/2024, reversed sharply downward from yesterday.
In the domestic market, coffee prices today fell by VND 1,200 compared to yesterday.
In Lam Dong province, Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha districts are trading at VND 108,400/kg.
In Dak Lak, Cu M’gar district is buying at VND 108,700/kg, while Ea H’leo and Buon Ho are trading at VND 108,600/kg.
In Dak Nong province, Gia Nghia and Dak R’lap traders are transacting at VND 108,800 and VND 108,700/kg, respectively.
In Gia Lai province, Chu Prong district is trading at VND 108,700/kg, while Pleiku and La Grai are both at VND 108,600/kg.
The buying price for coffee in Kon Tum today is VND 108,700/kg.
Domestic coffee prices today also sharply reversed, pushing this agricultural commodity below the VND 109,000/kg threshold.
Thus, on 10/25/2024, domestic coffee prices are trading around VND 108,400 - 108,800/kg.
