In the international market, coffee price today continued to increase at London Stock Exchange.
By the end of last week trading session (Vietnam time), delivery Robusta coffee price in November 2020 at London Stock Exchange decreased by US$ 17 / ton (1.27%) to US$ 1,322 / ton; while the delivery price in March 2021 decreased by US$ 8 / ton to US$ 1,351 / ton.
Meanwhile, the delivery Arabica coffee price in December 2020 at New York Stock Exchange went down by 1.6 cent / lb (1.53%) to 102.8 cent / lb; and the delivery price in March 2021 went down by 1.5 cent / lb (1.4%) to 105.35 cent / lb.
The world’s total output of Arabica coffee for the crop year 2020/2021 is forecasted to gain 101.8 million bags, equivalent to an increase of 8.5% against previous crop year. Brazil, the world’s largest coffee producer is estimated to reach 61.62 million bags, accounting for 35% of global output including both Arabica and Robusta.
As such, coffee price today, 3 November 2020 at international market reversed to decrease slightly, Arabica coffee output increased by 8.5%.
Coffee price today, 3 November in domestic market observed a downward trend by an average of VND 200/kg. Despite concerns over Typhoon No.10, domestic coffee price is estimated to remain optimistic at VND 34 million / ton in the new crop.
Particularly, purchase price at Di Linh district (Lam Dong province) was VND 32,400 / kg and VND 32,500 / kg at both Bao Loc and Lam Ha districts (Lam Dong province)
At Cu M'gar district (Dak Lak province), the price remained stable at VND 33,100 / kg. In Ea H'leo and Buon Ho districts (Dak Lak province), the price standed at VND 33,000 / kg.
At Gia Nghia and Dak R'lap districts (Dak Nong province), purchase price was currently at VND 32,900 / kg.
Coffee price today at Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province was VND 32,800 / kg and US$ 32,900 / kg at both Pleiku and La Grai. The price at Kon Tum increased to US$ 32,700 / kg.
Typhoon Goni is forecasted to enter East Sea early this week and directly affect the Central and Central Highlands regions. By end October 2020, multiple of Vietnam’s key areas for coffee production including Central Highlands had not been harvested due to the slow ripening of coffee resulting from humidity and a lack of sunlight.
Given that fact, experts predict that depending on the impact of Typhoon No.10, raw coffee price in the Central Highlands will vary by wide amplitude, possibly reaching VND 34 million / ton but only in a flash.
As such, coffee price today, 3 November 2000 in domestic market was between VND 32,200 / kg and VND 32,900 / kg.
