In February 2024, Vietnam's coffee exports reached 200 thousand tons, worth $ 655 million, down 0.2% in volume but up 50.3% in value compared to February 2023.
Accumulated in the first 2 months of 2024, Vietnam's coffee exports are estimated to reach 438 thousand tons, worth $ 1.38 billion, up 27.9% in volume and up 85% in value compared to the same period in 2023.
In February 2024, Vietnam's average coffee export price is estimated to reach $ 3,276/ton, up 7.4% compared to January 2024 and up 50.6% compared to February 2023. In the first 2 months of 2024, Vietnam's average coffee export price is estimated to reach $ 3,153/ton, up 44.7% over the same period in 2023.
Regarding export types, in January 2024, Vietnam increased exports of Robusta and Arabica coffee compared to December 2023 but decreased exports of Excelsa and processed coffee. Compared to January 2023, Vietnam increased exports of most coffee types, except Arabica coffee.
According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, in January 2024, Vietnam's export of Robusta coffee reached over 216 thousand tons, worth nearly $ 614 million, increased 15.4% in volume and 25.7% in value compared to December 2023. Compared to January 2023, it increased by 68% in volume and 155.7% in value. In particular, Vietnam promotes the export of Robusta coffee to many markets, such as Italy, Spain, Russia, Indonesia, Belgium, China, Philippines... On the contrary, Robusta coffee exports to some traditional markets decreased, such as Germany, Japan, the United States...
In January 2024, Arabica coffee exports reached 5.25 thousand tons, worth over $ 20 million, an increase of 78.5% in volume and an increase of 83.1% in value compared to December 2023, but compared to January 2023, it decreased by 27.1% in volume and 25.7% in value. In particular, Arabica coffee exports to many markets such as the United States, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, and Russia... recorded high growth compared to December 2023 and January 2023.
