Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee has recently agreed in principle for PNE AG (the Federal Republic of Germany) to survey, research and install wind gauges, as well as assess wind potential in some sea areas in the districts of Phu Cat and Phu My.
As recommended by PNE AG, the project will have an estimated capacity of 500 MV – 700 MV and total investment of US$ 1.5 billion. Time for the survey and research is 12 months.
In order to conduct survey and research, leaders of Binh Dinh province requested the investor to closely coordinate with related local departments and authorities to fully comply with required procedures in accordance with legal regulations. The project must be in line with other plans in the area and not affect offshore activities.
Earlier on 1 September 2020, Mr. Nguyen Phi Long – Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee had a meeting with the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Vietnam and PNE AG on the wind power project proposal of PNE AG.
Mr. Nguyen Phi Long committed to creating the most favorable conditions for the investor; at the same time requested PNE AG to actively coordinate with the central and provincial agencies for early completion of required procedures for the commencement of project implementation.
When putting into operation, this will be the first project of PNE AG in Vietnam and the second offshore wind power project nationwide following the offshore wind power project in Bac Lieu province.
