"The agricultural sector must be balanced with the 4.0 technology revolution. We have a lot of potential and ambition, but we need to solve each individual problem first, before coming up with a master plan," head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said.

According to the Minister, domestic resources and budget are still limited. Therefore, for the agricultural sector to not be thrown out of the spiral of world changes, domestic management agencies, businesses and business households urgently need forums like these to connect with partners around the world, and at the same time, they need to take advantage of the accumulated values that were confirmed in practice.

the agricultural sector is increasingly promoting its value in ensuring social security, protecting the environment, as well as implementing the rapid and sustainable development goals.

This is also the basis for the economy and particularly, the agricultural sector to have the opportunity to share daily, hourly knowledge from partners around the world.

"Hopefully the knowledge from today's workshop will help enrichen us in wisdom, and may this wisdom soon reach the fields and farmers", the Minister emphasized.

Agricultural sector leaders also reiterated the commitment to "zero carbon emissions" that Vietnam made at COP 26. To achieve such a goal, Minister Le Minh Hoan said production-driven agriculture is hardly sustainable and we need to transform new thoughts and knowledge into practical guidance.

Promising the earliest and complete response to all recommendations, proposals from experts and international organizations at the workshop, the Minister concluded: "It's time we put the market standard into agricultural production, instead of using products to shape the market, in the current trend of globalization".

At the workshop on May 8, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong affirmed that agriculture plays a very important role in the Vietnamese economy. In the context that the economy has just been struck by the Covid-19 pandemic and is on the way to recovery presently, the agricultural sector is increasingly promoting its value in ensuring social security, protecting the environment, as well as implementing the rapid and sustainable development goals of the agricultural sector.

This seminar is concrete and substantive connection activity between experts - managers and businesses to promote cooperation, share knowledge, and expand business opportunities in the field of agriculture, especially smart agriculture," said Mr. Phuong.

Recalling one of the six key tasks set out in the Resolution by the 13th Party Congress on policies to effectively support agricultural businesses, the Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment said that there is a "headline" in this area. In the agricultural sector, it is necessary to have the participation of domestic and international experts in the consultation and exchange of knowledge, along with the support and companionship of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. That is the Creative Agricultural Development Center Project owned by the Ministry with the Business Development Department as the focal point for research and implementation.

This is a project to directly support agricultural businesses, helping to improve added value and competitiveness for Vietnamese agricultural products, foods, especially in the Northern region.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong expressed his hope that experts will have specific and practical opinions on the development and operation of the Center to best support agricultural businesses and the people.
