The International Coffee Organization (ICO) is an intergovernmental organization representing the coffee industry in coffee-producing, exporting, and consuming countries worldwide. The ICO works to strengthen the global coffee industry and promote sustainable economic, social, and environmental development.
Regarding the implementation of the International Coffee Agreement 2022 by the International Coffee Organization (ICO), Nguyen Do Anh Tuan said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has submitted to the Government authorization for the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to represent the Government in signing the Agreement.
In the coming time, when there is an approved decision from the Government of Vietnam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Vietnam Coffee-Cocoa Association will coordinate with the ICO to organize the signing ceremony of the ICA Agreement 2022.
Discussing the cooperation situation with ICO in the coming time, Nguyen Do Anh Tuan suggested that ICO cooperate with the Vietnam Coffee-Cocoa Association to strengthen further the implementation and guidance of EUDR, ICO/CPPTF, continue to implement the activities proposed by ICO as well as implement programs on prosperous income, market transparency, sustainable development...
Tuan also hopes that ICO will share market information, promote the market, and organize seminars and conferences to share market information in coffee-consuming countries, such as the United States, Japan, and the UK... with coffee exporting countries. Promote training forms and share experiences with African countries through cooperation and South-South partnerships. Strengthen the ICO and the ICO Public-Private Partnership Group's role in climate change impacts on coffee trees.
Discussing the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Brazil, Nguyen Do Anh Tuan recognized that ICO is a bridge connecting the Vietnamese and Brazilian coffee industries to support each other, strengthen cooperation, organize visits to the two countries, participate in conferences and specialized technical meetings on annual coffee-related topics as well as exchange information and open data related to coffee production, trade, industrialization and export logistics between associations and businesses on both sides.
Thanking Nguyen Do Anh Tuan for his warm welcome, Vanusia Norgueira said that ICO would organize the International Coffee Council Conference in Honduras in September 2025. Vanusia Norgueira will inform the program of the event and respectfully invite the Vietnam Coffee - Cocoa Association and Vietnamese businesses to attend the Conference.
