The People's Committee of Phu Yen Province has just issued a decision to impose a fine of VND457 million on Tri Hue Production - Trading and Transport Co., Ltd., in Ward 5 (Tuy Hoa City). The punishment was issued after the company’s shrimp farming unit in Phuoc Dong village, An Hoa Hai Commune (Tuy An District) was discovered violating administrative rules in the environmental impact assessment report. The unit was found to have conducted improper periodic waste monitoring and discharge of wastewater into the environment excessing the permitted standards during shrimp farming.
Previously, at 9:30 on May 25, the inspection team of the Environmental Police Department (Phu Yen Provincial Police) coordinated with local authorities to inspect the shrimp farming unit of this company. They have found an incorrect implementation in the contents of the environmental impact assessment report; improper periodic waste monitoring and discharge of untreated shrimp farming wastewater with a flow rate of more than 765 m3/day.
Notably, wastewater containing environmental parameters normally exceeds the technical regulations on waste, specifically with residual chlorine surpassing 2.65 times and TSS exceeding 1.33 times.
Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee forced Tri Hue Production - Trading and Transport Co., Ltd. to strictly comply with the contents of the environmental impact assessment report and remedy the environmental pollution within 45 days.
